Hi All
One of the main attractions of Enlisted for me is that it is several different games in one. I can fight on foot, in vehicles, or in the air!!!
In this suggestion I would like to focus on the Air aspect of the game and its relationship to the ground game.
Lets start off with the Priority changes, and then move into to the lower priority but fun changes.
Would love a forward!!
The Highest Priority change revolves around how planes are spawned in. The Enlisted Devs started on this path in the right direction, but have never finished it. In Pacific, Carriers were introduced which IMO is a really good mechanic (unfortunately, Non-Carrier aircraft have been neglected and they still get air spawn and no spawn delay in pacific maps)
I propose that Airfields are introduced to “All maps and Campaigns” at a distance roughly equal to the Carriers in Pacific.
This is not a new suggestion and is already mostly implemented in Enlisted. It would not be hard to add functioning airfields as modders have done it, and all the assets needed are already in game.
It has the advantages of
- Removing spawn delay at the start of the match
- Provides a Safe Area with AA to protect the spawn Area
- Provides a much-needed place to repair for the harsh effect on performance damage has
- Makes Crashing or being shot down more meaningful (you must start on the ground)
- Provides tankers and Infantry relief from CAS Air spawn cycling (revenge bombing/shooting down)
- will allow you to de spawn aircraft, without losing tickets.
This change has a significant effect on the relationship between fighters and attackers, and also everyone else on the ground.
Honestly it would be one of the best changes for everyone, foot solider, tanker, pilot.
Here is a clip showing time to target airfield vs Air spawn at start of match.
Airfield vs Airspawn Stuka - YouTube
Lancaster vs P 47 - YouTube
Most of the BRs for planes are “not too bad”, with perhaps a few outliers. This is mostly caused by Ordnance loadouts.
- The exception is the Japanese tree as it is largely incomplete and has some really odd BR placements
Until Custom loadouts are implemented, as a general rule, I believe All fighter planes should have;
- access to small bomb, single drops only (50-60KGs, up to a single 100 or 250 at high tier) Or rockets to supplement their air superiority role (just makes them more viable from a fun standpoint).
There should be no ordnance loadouts rivaling that of the CAS Attacker planes of their BRS (IAR-81C, Soviet P-40 and USA P-38 are guilty)
At the moment these planes are popular but may be tempered by just the Airfield Change. Further attention may be required.
I have expanded upon the Tech Tree for all Nations featuring planes that are either iconic, fun or fill a hole in the lineup. I have also changed the BR on some planes.
Brand new planes have been included!!! for a detailed list see later in the post!!
I have split the Trees into Fighters and Attackers and put them side by side with other nations so you can see what they compete against. There is still asymmetry, not all Nations planes are created equal and Nations will excel in different areas/Situations.

Keep in mind that all suggestions related to BR changes are for a “Perfect World or BR ±0”
-
Also some of these changes need to be revised. For example I moved IAR-81C up to Br 2 because of its ordnance, but its a pretty poor fighter…could stay BR 1 with perhaps revised ordnance or Class
Now to the fun, not so urgent Stuff!!!
Self explanatory. System from warthunder to choose ammunition belts and ordnance at the cost of performance.(will apply to Ground Vehicles/Tanks aswell)
Render distance is very short and could do with some love. In warthunder you can spot targets upwards of 6km away.
- Complete work on the newly added gunner seats! (including all gunner positions!)
- Tweak the rotation speeds to be less sluggish in the small movements
I tried to pick planes that are either iconic, fun or offer different playstyles! These are some of my favorites from War thunder that I find to be very fun!
*Loadouts may need to be tweaked to suit Enlisted
“General” Nation guidelines
USA - Huge Ordnance payload CAS
Commonwealth - Air Supremacy (maneuverability)
Japan - Air Supremacy (maneuverability)
Germany/Italy - Specialist in either CAS or CAP
Soviets - Jack of all trades (Multi-purpose can do a bit of everything)
This is just my interpretation of the way Darkflow have currently incorporated each nations Airforce.
