Before the fall of France, the French order about 3,000 1921 Thompson, and this photo seems to show a German with a 1921 model, most like after a battle in France.
So, I now once again ask you guys and gal’s, do you support adding this Thompson as a event Thompson for Germany?
Yes, I support adding this Thompson
I don’t care
No, I support adding the 1921AC instead
No, I don’t support this or the other one
Yes, but with some changes

And also please explain what changes you would do if you voted to change it

Well I would take the 1928 instead, but it has a slower rate of fire compared to the ZK-383, but does more damage. But Germany lacks faster firing smgs, so I thought it would be nice if Germany gets a faster firing model instead. As a event gun of course
I support this but the 30 round mag 1921 should be BR 3 for both USA and Germany, otherwise it’s not fair if Germany gets to have the same/similar Thompson at a lower BR.
If it’s an event squad, like another french resistance squad, where the assaults have the MP-40, an machine Gunner with the mg34, and maybe a at Gunner with a captured panzerfust and kar98k
I voted yes.
Sorry, I wanted to be sure that you are not a hypocrite, since most people only want captured equipment for certain factions because they are biased and want their favourite faction to have the best of everything.
Like soviets mains?. And besides, I’m alright with captured weapons as long as it make sense and isn’t in the tt. For example, the germans lack a UC while every other factions has one. But I do believe that the Western allies should get a UC for thier TT, mainly armed with machin guns.
Definitely agree that it should be available for the U.S.A, but honestly not sure how it should be implemented. Since the U.S.A didn’t use the 1921 but instead convert them into th 1921/28, so maybe as a event gun too?
As an event gun would be good being a pre war Thompson. I didn’t know going into this that the 1921 was different to the 1921/28 but just goes to show how there are apparently infinitive Thompson variants… What I meant at the time was lowering the 1921/28 to Br 3 but I don’t think that would matter if both Germany and USA got it as event weapons. Apparently I need to watch more forgotten weapons.
AC is simply put the best Thompson in game, with 1000+ rpm and minimal recoil. Raw power of the .45 ACP rounds in combination with the ROF make this thing a absolute killer from point blank to about 60 to 70 meters away (I’m aware of the projectile speed, but it’s a minor downside in comparison).
So basically you are getting a substantially buffed version of Sichuan SMG, which latter is already one of the best on BR3.
Also for comparison, the Thompson 21/28 from the US which is inferior in every aspect is on BR4 still.
So yeah, BR3 for 30rds Thompson AC isn’t a good idea.
Edit: that said though, consider the 20rds version, I believe it’s also historically used by the USMC in small quantity, although that’s probably gonna be for US instead of Germany.
The 1921/28 is the 1921 but converted to have a different bolt which slowed down the rate of fire, making it similar to the 1928 model, and there’s still the 1921/28 with a drum mag for the British we could add.
The Thompson 21/28 needs to be br 3 its literally up against a drum mag 1928…
Also I feel event weapons can get away with being a bit better thanks to rarity…
By the topic it is about the AC. But if it’s not about the AC then there’s potential room for discussion, although it’s still probably a bit too strong given the ROF and the damage, so yeah it’s gonna be a hard balancing problem.
The best thing to do, given the insane DPS, is to make this gun as uncontrollable as possible, but then it’ll simply be unrealistic since compensator doesn’t make a huge difference from historical record (hence why US decided to get rid of it in later variations).
