Haha, let the USSR get at least 10 shotguns. It will only hurt them, since the developers only add one weapon to TT every ~ half-year. USSR currently has the strongest weapons in all BRs and can afford to get junk instead of another meta. The Axis, on the other hand, currently has a lot of real balance gaps that need to be filled. So why would you want unplayable junk instead? With your suggestion you are only harming the Axis.
funny how he voted with “yes” for the suggestion to give the USSR a BR II shotgun
and voted with “no” that the Axis won’t get a BR II shotgun
Yes, and I explained why above)
Only thing Gaijin has to do is “testing the weapons” and balance them. But that requires that Gaijin react in time and not years later (speaking about Gewehr 41 which might get buffed with the next major update - at least I hope so)
And if Gaijin test them intensive, make their balancing according to the tests there won’t be any harm for a nation. And that is exactly what they are actually paid for.
The Gewehr 41 will always be garbage. Even if its reload speed is increased, it will still be longer than the SVT-38’s. And all other stats are worse. But the main thing is that as long as the Soviets have body armor, you’ll always need to get two shots in, even at point-blank range. Meanwhile, a Bolshevik with an SVT-38 can one-shot at 40 meters.
Before introducing new shotguns, they first need to be made playable as a class. Increase their damage, add splash damage. And make them available to all soldiers who can carry semi-automatic rifles.
Yea I don’t see the point in adding some random civilian shotgun into the German techtree. Now had the Browning Auto 5 been an actually powerful weapon that the German techtree needed an answer for in order to maintain gameplay balance I might consider otherwise. But it isn’t, the Auto 5 doesn’t do anything a regular SMG can’t.
→ Because it was used during WW2?! Sources are in the original post.
→ Yes, give all nations just copy&paste stuff. Next step: every nation can use every weapon so we just make 1 huge TechTree and mix all together. I will enjoy to play as USSR with SuperPershing and P-47D or play with Japan in my IS-2 (1944) and equipped with Federov Avtomat rifles

Your two listed sources are:
-
Something called “Unusual German Small Arms and Infantry Weapons of World War II”. Considering that you only listed its name and nothing else I have no idea what this thing is, I would assume either it’s some webpage or even a book but again you’ve given me nothing to work with.
-
The historicalfirearms.info website. Not even a specific page from that website specifically about the Walther shotgun, the whole website in general. However as I at least had the general website to work with I was able to find their article on the Walther shotgun and guess what, it makes zero mention about any WW2 service.
Historical Firearms - Cutaway of the Day: Walther Toggle Action Shotgun ...
In fact, from what I could find on the shotgun, it was a very obscure system which was only sold in very limited amounts from the early 1920s to early 1930s. I would be very surprised of any army used them during WW2.

What is bro yapping about, I didn’t say shit about copypasting weapons you are fighting ghosts.
So in that case Axis will get Bren Machine Gun (Maschinengewehr 138(e)), M1 Garand and M1 Carbines (known as Selbstladekarabiner 455(a)); M1928 Thompson submachine guns and M1911 pistols (Pistole 660(a)), Sten submachine guns, and Lee-Enfield bolt-action rifles into the TechTree - fine
all of them were used by coastal defense and reserve units
additional they will have Spitfires, T-34 Model 1943, Matilda, Firefly

And Allies will get Stug III, Panther, MP-40, …

Let’s go, let the TechTree mixing continue! Will be amazing for the game.
It’s a “book” by Rob Arndt with 85 sites
I think the convo below should explain why i almost never comment on weapon suggestions
I’ll admit that spitfire looks cool
I saw quite a few post of you where you wrote “forwarded”
looks nice - agree
but the game wouldn’t need it
they only captured tank I would love to see for Axis would be the Panzerkampfwagen KV-1B 756(r) (KV-1 with 7.5cm KwK 40)

Agreed, definitely want to see this tank get added in the game as a Event tank with a event squad tho.
Mate why on earth are you going on some random meltdown crying about captured weapons? I genuinely have no idea what triggered you into doing this, this is concerning.
Okay, so I’ve finally been able to find what you are referring to. It’s just some random PDF consisting of pictures of various guns, weapons, and other associated stuff, there is no source or anything. There is no provenance for either the pdf or the author. I would not consider this a reliable source. I mean just from a brief cursory look I see some questionable things in it.
- The PDF includes the infamous Nazi belt buckle guns. The historical authenticity of these are highly debated, with some people saying that they are legit while other people say that they’re probably postwar creations.
- The pictures listed as the “7.92mm Pzb SS-41” appears to show a different gun than the actual Pzb SS-41. Not only does the gun visually look very different, but it also displays a different method of reload from the actual SS-41.
- One of the pages has what appears to be a 1935 taboid newspaper snippet allegedly about some whacky ray gun design from a German designer which is ??? Not only that, but apparently the German designer had fled from his country in an attempt to sell the design to the French government so I’m not even completely sure you can reasonably put this thing into a list about German WW2 weapons.
- The list includes a 7.35mm Mauser C96 carbine. These were mainly civilian weapons and while it’s hypothetically possible some random German dude decided to bring one with them into war again I doubt it was ever issued militarily.
- And then of course we have the Walther shotgun. Like all the other entries, just a single photo and a title. No information or evidence that it ever saw service during WW2 or was even relevant in any way.
Remember this is just what immediately popped out to me from a quick skim.
In general, I have no objection to a few captured weapons. However, I consider it completely wrong to equip every nation with the exact same captured weapons.
There are posts suggesting that all nations—Axis and USSR alike—should be equipped with the Browning Auto-5; this is simply unnecessary. Not every nation needs to have the same weapons. The USSR, for instance, could receive the TOZ-9 instead.
I could live with this, provided it remains limited to a few isolated weapons.
At the same time, however, people are also demanding that the Mauser C96 be given to the Allies and the Japanese. The same applies to the PPSh. Images of American soldiers were posted (see below), and now people want the PPSh included in the tech trees for the Allies (USA/UK) as well.
What for?! It is absolutely unnecessary to insert every single weapon that was ever captured into a nation’s tech tree. Under these circumstances, you wouldn’t need a separate tech tree for each nation anymore, because all nations would have the same weapons. It makes absolutely no sense.

Seriously? Look, the PPSH-41 should only belong to the soviets. With the exception of Germany as it has the event MP-41r and one from the saboteur event. And mauser C96s I wouldn’t want either, but we should probably remodel Germany’s one so they don’t look exactly like the Soviets Bolo version.
Then perhaps you would be interested in this suggestion for Germany to finally get one?
A alternative Thompson for br 3 Germany: The 1921 Thompson with 30 round mag
Yes, unfortunately. It would no longer make the Tech Tree “unique.”
I am fully aware that Japanese officers, in particular, were fond of using the Luger and Mauser C96 due to their status within the Imperial Japanese Army. But are they really necessary in the Tech Tree?
I already voted days ago.
It doesn’t seem like it, there’s photo of Allies soldiers with lugers and P38 pistols, and yet they don’t have it, nor should.
Thank you, just trying to get as much support as I can so Germany (and me) can have a unique Thompson at br 3.
