weapon type:
→ “Walther toggle-action shotgun” is shotgun. Axis urgently needs a good BR II-class shotgun to expand its arsenal and meet player needs. In this proposal, I suggest introducing the Walther toggle-action shotgun, which would not only offer historical accuracy but also enrich gameplay.
suggested BR:
→ BattleRating II
type:
→ TechTree
availability:
→ In my opinion the “Walther toggle-action shotgun” should be added into the TechTree.
gameplay purpose & role
→ The need for an effective shotgun in the BR II class is evident, as the currently available options lack the flexibility and firepower required for close-quarters combat on urban maps. Shotguns are particularly useful in close quarters and can be used against infantry.
historical datas:
- designer: Walther
- designed 1918
- produced 1921 - 1931
- estimated 5,000 - 6,000 were built
- action: semi-automatic
- caliber: 12 gauge, 16 gauge
- magazine size: 4-round tubular magazine (or 5 rounds with 63.5mm shells)
- barrel length: 27.5 inches (70 centimeters)

Definitely need this, even some exceedingly rarer and experimental stuff made it into all nations’ tech tree, I think this choice is pretty valid even for the Axis (German) tech tree.

I’m behind this but it needs to be TT, it’s one of the only shots at another TT shotgun for the Germans the other one being a less used more obscure one that would fit as event or Premium.

FR as a USA main Id say that’s fair everyone should get to enjoy shotguns.

We don’t need the developers to add this garbage weapon instead of something really powerful and necessary.
The Walther toggle-action shotgun is still a better option than adding that boring copy-paste stuff for all nations (like giving every nation a Browning shotgun).
And what is necessary and powerful? Another fucking Soviet SMG?
What?)
What do the Soviets have to do with the Germans?
The Germans need a high-rate-of-fire SMG at 2-3 BR. A powerful semi-automatic rifle at 2-3 BR. A handy grenade launcher at 2 BR. A light machine gun at 5 BR. And much more. But definitely not a useless shotgun.

Well, should they buff shotsguns this wouldn’t be a waste of effort to begin with.

The fact that the USSR demand two shotguns at BR II seems to be fine with him. But the fact that the Axis, in the same breath, also wants a shotgun at BR II—that doesn’t sit right with him.

I can’t take such people serious, so I put these people were they belong even if they still can read and comment my posts. But at least I can ignore them.

Haha, let the USSR get at least 10 shotguns. It will only hurt them, since the developers only add one weapon to TT every ~ half-year. USSR currently has the strongest weapons in all BRs and can afford to get junk instead of another meta. The Axis, on the other hand, currently has a lot of real balance gaps that need to be filled. So why would you want unplayable junk instead? With your suggestion you are only harming the Axis.
funny how he voted with “yes” for the suggestion to give the USSR a BR II shotgun
and voted with “no” that the Axis won’t get a BR II shotgun

Yes, and I explained why above)
Only thing Gaijin has to do is “testing the weapons” and balance them. But that requires that Gaijin react in time and not years later (speaking about Gewehr 41 which might get buffed with the next major update - at least I hope so)
And if Gaijin test them intensive, make their balancing according to the tests there won’t be any harm for a nation. And that is exactly what they are actually paid for.
The Gewehr 41 will always be garbage. Even if its reload speed is increased, it will still be longer than the SVT-38’s. And all other stats are worse. But the main thing is that as long as the Soviets have body armor, you’ll always need to get two shots in, even at point-blank range. Meanwhile, a Bolshevik with an SVT-38 can one-shot at 40 meters.
Before introducing new shotguns, they first need to be made playable as a class. Increase their damage, add splash damage. And make them available to all soldiers who can carry semi-automatic rifles.

Yea I don’t see the point in adding some random civilian shotgun into the German techtree. Now had the Browning Auto 5 been an actually powerful weapon that the German techtree needed an answer for in order to maintain gameplay balance I might consider otherwise. But it isn’t, the Auto 5 doesn’t do anything a regular SMG can’t.
