Suggestion for Normandy Campaign restructure and rebalance

As we have repeatedly seen complaints in regards to balance in the forums for the Normandy campaign across a variety of topics, be it vehicles or weapons, and in consideration for future campaign levels, I would like to put forth a more structured suggestion to adjust and change a variety of campaign unlocks, including to make them somewhat more symmetrical. I also ask other members of the community to bring forward their thoughts as to how they think it would be best to implement such, and so on, and will edit this post as necessary to best put forward as much of a consensus as possible from those of us on the forums who have been discussing such issues as the FG 42 and Sherman Jumbo and other points of balance concern.

I dont see a major problem here.

this seems like an amazing idea

Number 35 Shouldn’t be the M4A3E2, switch with Sherman VC (Firefly)

Its Allies, not just US.

firefly maybe cause they ordered some not many

I would generally agree, however to the best of my knowledge the devs have stated they have no intention to remove or replace the 75mm Jumbo with any other tank, as such I include it. I will add in a note for replacement with a firefly, however. I do not believe a Churchill would be a good idea, however, as it would be effectively just a more awkward Jumbo, with any churchill that we’d see. I’d also like to avoid tanks with excessive side armor to ensure anti-tank weapons remain effective regardless of level - the same reason I don’t include the Tiger 1 here.

and i emphasis maybe m26 super perishing would be best lets keep american gear with the usa so that way i can face a tiger 1 heavy tank would be cool other than jumbo its a heavy tank with marsh mellow armor

The M26 super pershing is an equivalent to the Tiger 2, not the Tiger 1. Regardless, we shouldn’t see any Pershings in the Normandy campaign, as Pershings didn’t reach Europe until 1945 - as such, Pershings, and the Super Pershing by extension, would be something for a Battle of the Bulge campaign - not the Normandy Campaign, which is limited to 1944 equipment according to the devs.

yes but the t25 was in 44 almost the same tank beter to have perishing than churchhill

they didnt want to send the perishings but they ended up sending them any way
perishing and tiger battle would be nice switch up

Neither the T25 nor T26 were in Europe until 1945. Thus, they cannot be in the Normandy campaign.

Panthers are way ahead of hte equivalents you have given the allies.

are you sure? because panthers weighs as much as 45 tons most of that is frontal armor like jumbo

How are Panthers “way ahead” of the Jumbo shermans? Especially when infantry interaction is taken into account, with the slower turret traverse rates and lower HE filler of the Panthers, roughly equal frontal armor performance against one another (at least on the 76mm sherman vs Panther A), similar overall mobility and weight, etc?

Panthers can kill Jumbo and every other allied tank from front - only Firefly can kill Panthers from front.

That is a pretty big imbalance.

Panthers can’t be balanced, neither can Jumbo, but at different levels

Apart from the above - Pantehr turret traverse is slower - but it is not “slow” - assuming htey are useing WT figures it is about 16 deg/sec, which is quite respectable.

Panther has MORE HE than Sherman 75 gun - 720g to 660g - although at those amounts I don’t think it’s a great difference.

Panther is appreciably more mobile than Jumbo - wider tracks and about 2hp more per ton.

The one weakness Panther does have is side armour - but a bit of care and that wil only be a rare problem for it.
