Update "Far Eastern Front"

Commanders, the “Far Eastern Front” major update has arrived! The confrontation between the USSR and Japan opens up a new frontline for you, with a new battlefield inspired by the diverse landscapes and characteristics of northeastern China during the final stages of the Second World War.

Four new weapons, three vehicles and three premium squads await you along with several balance changes to the existing ones. You can also customize the camouflages of vehicles for different campaigns and the track armor decorators on previous event reward camouflages now provide additional armor.

The player profile has been expanded with a lot of new interesting statistics that were previously missing, but were already tracked by the game. Whether you use it to improve yourself or just show it off to your fellow commanders is up to you.

As with every update, we have also improved the graphics of the game to make it even more realistic! Explosions from grenades, mortar shells and anti-tank guns now leave craters, the armor of vehicles glows red hot when hit and special effects have been added to paper and electrical objects when they are destroyed.

The system that restricts the placement of rally points and spawns on APCs has been improved too. It now takes into account the shape of the capture point and displays the distance from the restricted zone.

The Silver Chest is back! From December 16th (10:00 UTC) to January 6th (13:00 UTC), the “Forest Cache” will be available in the shop, with an updated list of rewards up to the Liberation of Paris event!

And to lift the festive mood, we have temporarily added thematic decorations to the hangar!

But that’s not all. You can read about the main changes below, but the update also includes numerous additional minor fixes and improvements too!

Weapons and soldiers

  • Added new weapons:
    • Type 88 rifle (USSR BR I, Research)
    • PPSh-41 (S) (USSR BR V, Premium)
    • KE7 (Germany BR III, Research)
    • Browning M1919A4 (USA BR IV, Research)
    • Type 2a (6.5mm) (Japan BR V, Research)
    • Captured M1918A2 (Japan BR III, Premium)
  • Adjusted a number of weapons: full list of changes.
  • Changed the BR of the M1928A1 Thompson 50 from V to IV.
  • Changed the BR of the Patchett Mk I from I to II.
  • Changed the BR of the De Lisle Commando carbine from I to II.
  • Changed the BR of the Tokyo Arsenal SMG from IV to V.
  • Added a bayonet to the M1941 Johnson and the Fedorov Avtomat.
  • Changed the perk point modifiers of soldiers in several event and premium squads, added a free perk reset to affected soldiers. (will be released later)
  • Added additional winter uniform options to Italian and British infantry squads.
  • Added additional pants customization options for British soldiers.
  • Added additional customization options for the Kiraly M43 (Germany, Premium), Erma EMP (Germany, Premium), Gewehr 41 (Germany, Premium) and Flamethrower portable No.2 (USA, Event) squads.
  • Added additional customization options for the PPD 1944 (USSR, Premium) squad in Moscow.
  • Added additional customization options for the 1st Volkssturm Company (Germany, Legacy, Assaulter I) and 244th Volkssturm Battalion (Germany, Research, Guerrilla II) squads.
  • Adjusted the default uniform and added additional customization options for the Gerät 03 (Germany, Premium), Kbsp wz.38M (Germany, Premium), KS 750 (Germany, Premium) and Horn StG (Germany, Event) squads in multiple campaigns.
  • Adjusted the default uniform and added additional customization options for the Enfield P14 (T) (USA, Premium) squad in the Battle of the Bulge campaign
  • Permanently returned the Japanese Type Hei LMG (BR IV) and Ho-Ri Prototype (BR V) premium squads to the shop for Gold.
  • Fixed the incorrect armor penetration value of the M1 Bazooka on its stat card.
  • Fixed a visual bug where the SKS-30 was reloaded with an empty clip.
  • Updated the P08 Luger’s animations.
  • Temporarily added a new buildable structure for Engineers: Christmas Tree.

Vehicles

  • Added new vehicles:
    • Ferdinand (Germany BR V, Research)
    • B-25J-30 (USA BR V, Research)
    • PBJ-1H (USA BR V, Premium)
    • Chi-To Late (Japan BR IV, Research)
  • Changed the BR of the SU-100 from V to IV.
  • Changed the BR of the Panzer IV/70(V) from V to IV.
  • Changed the BR of the Marder III H from III to II.
  • Changed the BR of the Chi-Nu II from IV to III.
  • Changed the BR of the Ho-Ni III from III to II.
  • Added working hull machine guns to several Tier 2 and Tier 3 vehicles: T-28, T-28E, T-34, T-34 (1941), T-34-57 (1943), T-34E “STZ”, Sherman II, M4A1, M4A2 Sherman, Calliope, M24, Churchill III, Mk I “Grant”, M3 Lee, Pz.III J1, Pz.III N, Pz.IV E, Pz.IV F1, Pz.IV F2 and Pz.IV G.
  • It is now possible to assign different camouflages to each campaign.
  • Added additional camouflage options to vehicles of Germany, USA and the USSR.
  • Increased the engine power of the Sd.Kfz.251/1 and Sd.Kfz.251/9 by 50 horsepower and improved their off-road capability.
  • Decorators on the “Armored. Summer camouflage” of the M14/41 and the M4A1 (76) W now provide additional armor.
  • Updated the cockpit of the Ju 188 A-2.
  • Replaced the Meteor F Mk.3’s 1000 lb H.E. M.C. Mk.13 bombs with G.P. 500 lb Mk.IV bombs.
  • Changed the A6M2 Reisen from aircraft carrier spawn to air spawn.
  • Added the Churchill VII and the Chi-Nu to Practice mode.
  • Fixed the incorrect armor value on the T-34’s stat card.
  • Added missing tank descriptions.
  • Fixed several tank related bugs based on players reports.

  • Removed the limitation on the number of manually activated boosters.

Graphics

  • Added better effects to various destructible objects.
  • Added destruction effects to new trees and bushes.
  • Added different craters for 50 and 100 kilogram bombs.
  • Added a new heated metal visual effect to hit marks on vehicles.

Locations and missions

  • Added a new frontline, Far East. Added new missions:

  • Improved the system that restricts the placement of rally points and spawns on APCs close to capture points. Now the distance is calculated from the edge of the capture point, regardless of its shape. While trying to place a rally point or driving an APC, the distance to the restricted zone is now displayed.
  • Fixed a bug that caused floors to be covered with ground textures in certain houses in Tunisia.
  • Fixed a bug that caused certain rocks to float in the air in Tunisia, Guadalcanal and New Georgia.
  • Corrected the water model in the caves in New Georgia.
  • Corrected the navigation of AI soldiers in certain houses in Tunisia.
  • AI soldiers now shoot through bushes less frequently in Tunisia, Burma and New Georgia.
  • Adjusted the tunnels inside the cave village in Tunisia.
  • Corrected the physical materials in the Opera in Berlin.
  • Fixed the physical model of carpets in Tunisia.
  • Fixed texture gaps on the slopes in the Ardennes.
  • Made certain wooden structures destructible.
  • Fixed the model of the destroyed 120 mm gun in Berlin, so vehicles will no longer get stuck in it.
  • Adjusted the placement of spawn points and battle areas in the “River crossing (Conquest) Large” and “Fortified district (Conquest)” missions.
  • Added additional spawn points for tanks and APCs in the variants of “Werbig station” mission.
  • Added additional spawn points in the “Gavutu North (Destruction)” and “Gavutu South (Destruction)” missions.
  • Adjusted the placement of spawn points and battle areas in the variants of the “Gavutu” mission.
  • Adjusted the placement of spawn points and battle areas in the variants of the “New Georgia” mission.

Sound

  • Fixed multiple errors related to the reload sounds of the Kawaguchiya shotgun, “Uragan” SMG, Owen .45 ACP and the Kretz P13.
  • Added new firing sound for the Type 4 rifle.
  • Added new sound effects for mortars.
  • Added a new sound effect when a smoke shell bursts.

Other improvements

  • A Christmas tree from the Far East was delivered to the players’ hangar.

Yes, most assaulter squads just lost one slot. And given that most people did max them, this slot cannot be researched again…

Also, this was already a bug in the dev server somehow

Im still waiting for StuG III F and Panzerwerfer BR change.
Panzerwerfer change is long overdue, a truck with some rockets has nothing to do on the same BR as a literal tank with rocket artillery on it.

Finally more sound effects too, however I think Enlisted needs to have a whole update regarding sound effects too, because there are too many recycled ones

Thank you, but I already looked at all of the changes.
Buffing weapons and vehicles is good, but it doesnt really help the weapons and vehicles that already heavily out-classed or are too weak on their current BR and cannot be buffed in a significant way.
La-7 is a good example, moving it to BR4 would be a great change since its very comparable to other BR4 fighter aircraft like the Bf-109 G-10 and would give Soviets a BR4 fighter aircraft (they dont have any at the moment).

just how permanent is “permanent” here? Squads tend to be removed from the store frequently, will any other “permanently” removed squads be returning?

Speaking of graphics, has the blue lighting bug introduced in the “Scorching Rays” update that seems to only affect AMD video cards been fixed? I don’t remember seeing it listed in recent patch notes but I might have missed it

I ask, why uptier the Patchett without any stat changes…? It’s currently just a worse Lanchester now.

There is also no suggestion up about the Patchett having it’s BR changed, except for my own, who was asking for this…?

I hope it was realized from my topic that uptiering the Patchett should be done for other reasons than balance, because it never was about balance. Commonwealth players should have access to a truly late-war SMG option in higher BRs, and not remain limited to 50-round Lanchesters or a Lanchester prototype.

This is why a BR change with stat changes was called for, to create a truly unique, interesting, and historicly justifiable place within the current SMG BR III landscape, not just for the Commonwealth alone, but for the Allied faction as a whole, who needs something different from the monotonous Thompson spam that is otherwise available.

This was and remains a popular suggestion, and the only one on the topic, that’s still active, and still relevant to the game as it is now.


Please don’t leave the culmination of the Commonwealth’s wartime SMG development to be worse than their first one.

Thanks for adding the desert colored Italian helmets for Tunisia, not sure about the new desert pants with unfitting navy colored leg wraps but nice additions indeed,
Just PLEASE finally remove the anchor reflection, it looks SO weird, as if every helmet had a navy sticker removed leaving a more polished space

And also, why feathered helmets arent available in customization with Bersaglieri squad? Its the only thing that makes them stand out and only those safari hats have it



I wonder if I should make a suggestion about it ehh
