Here are a few corrections that I think are needed for the following weapons. It might be a bit messy, and I might add a few other links later. Feel free to tell me which other weapons could be added to this list.

-Beretta 1918 : should only fire in semi-auto, it has been proven that it could only do that historically, and move it to the rifleman class (like the M1 carbine atm, I would like the assault class to have access to semi-auto carbines, but this is another topic)

-Scotti naval rifle : increase the mag size to 20 rounds (the holes in the mag follow a logic, and there are 10 of them on each side if the mag, plus it looks like a there is a different bullet in each hole when you look closely on the ingame model, I have participated on a topic about this subject here a while ago : Correct the Scotti Naval Rifle magazine capacity) an move it to the rifleman squad (it uses rifle ammo, not intermediate ammo like an assault rifle, so it is more similar to the FG 42 in that regard)

-Type 2a (6,5mm) : increase the mag size to 30 rounds (I was skeptical when looking at the mag size but after all, we only have a speculative drawing of the entire gun, the only pics we have of this gun only show parts of it, but apparently it is confirmed that it indeed had a 30 round capacity in old US WW2 documentation: Encyclopedia of Japanese Small Arms 🇯🇵 - #7 by _DELAVR)

-M1919A4 : give us the possibility to shoot while standing (it was feasible historically), but you can’t ADS unless you go prone or deploy the weapon, just like the way it is at the moment

-Type 97 AT rifle : just like the Solothurn, you shouldn’t be able to shoot this thing while standing, even less being able to ADS while standing, this thing was MASSIVE, so it should work like the Solothurn in game : you can only shoot while prone or if the weapon is deployed. Also, give the model in game its real proportions, and not the downsized version we have atm.

-Fedorov Avtomat : change it to an LMG, it is NOT an assault rifle, it shoots rifle ammo, I know it wasn’t « truly » a LMG, because it was meant to be used like the Chauchat and the BAR, but the Chauchat and the BAR are classified as LMGs in the game, so the Fedorov should be the same. Whether you would like to make the reload animation more historical by reloading it with stripper clips (it was reloaded like that, the soldiers using these didn’t have any spare mags) is up to you, it could also help for balancing it.

-M2 Carbine : move it to the assault class : it shoots an intermediate cartridge in full auto, so it is way closer to a proper assault rifle than a battle rifle like the T20, it should only be available to the assault class

-Type 100 MG : this one looks like a complete fake gun, I have never found any info on a potential ground use of this weapon and not a single pic of gun modeled in the game, however, if you really want to keep a « two-barrelled MG », you could replce it with the Type 89 machine gun, because this one was actually used on the ground. Here are pics of the Type 89 with a bipod for ground use : Encyclopedia of Japanese Small Arms 🇯🇵 - #11 by _DELAVR

-Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk I (T) : this sniper rifle should be reloaded by inserting the rounds one by one, the current animation of « removing the mag » is extremely cursed, it was more a part of the rifle itself than a proper mag, and it was only removed when disassembling the rifle.

-AS-1944 model 5 : add a bipod on the model 5. Here are pics of the bipod for the model 5 : Assault rifles USSR Competition 1944 ENG Job №1

-.30 AN/M2 Stinger : correct its mag size to the historical 100 rounds (not the 200 rounds ingame atm) because the « mag » was a 250 rounds box that was cut to less than half of the box capacity, there is no way you could fit 200 rounds in this « mag ». Also, flip up the front sight for better aiming, because at the moment, the front sight on the dun model is folded down.

-Fedorov 1912 : replace it with the SVD-30 (without the scope, only the iron sights), the Fedorov 1912 was only a prototype while the SVD-30 was adopted in limited numbers, so it is not logical at all to put a prototype in the tree while an adopted rifle with basically the same characteristics is only a premium. Also rename the SVD-30 with a scope with its historically accurate name : the SVD-33.

-Mannlicher 1895 : the reload animation is wrong, the rifle uses an en-bloc clip, so if you want to reload the rifle if it isn’t empty, you should remove the clip to replace it with a full one, it is impossible to add individual rounds in the rifle one by one, just like it is at the moment.

-Carcano Mod. 38 sniper : this gun is very likely a post-war homemade assembly, the scope is german and there is zero trace of such a rifle in italian service or even as a prototype made by the italians. However, there is a very real and historically accurate prototype made by the italians with virtually the same caracteristics : the Carcano Mod. 38 sniper with Salmoiraghi scope, and yes it is in 7,35 mm Carcano too. You have historical documentation here: Repair the scope of the Carcano M38 and here : https://www.carcanorifle.com/sniper-rifles and here : fucile modello 91 con ottica

-M50 Reising : the model ingame is wrong, because the gun ingame has a 20 round mag, but the model uses the grooved mag that can only fit 12 rounds, furthermore, the magwell is also grooved so the gun can only fit the 12 round mag. The model must be corrected with the correct magwell and magazine, but the M55 Reising (the premium gun with a collapsible stock has an accurate magwell and magazine model, you can check them out both to see the difference.

-« Fedorov rifle 25 » (« Fedorov M1913/1916 » would be a more fitting name imo): the correct mag size is 15 rounds, not 25 as it is at the moment. The mag it uses is a cut down Madsen mag, an the Madsen uses a 25 round, single stack mag, so there is no way you could fit 25 rounds in this cut down mag.

-Liberator pistol : the recoil bug/glitch that makes the pistol look like it is shooting two bullets one after another when maintaining the « shooting button » is still present.

Note : I haven’t included the FNAB 43 rate of fire debate, because even though we have a video of the gun being shot and showing a rate of fire closer to 800 rpm, every other source that could be found indicates a rate of fire of 400 rpm, and some people theorize that the difference might be due to the use of modern ammo in the video, and not the kind of ammo used during WW2.

Furthermore, if the gun we see in the video was used in during the algerian war, maybe some parts could have been changed in the meantime ? Like the spring for example ? It is hard to say. The ideal thing would be to see 3 or 4 more videos of a different FNAB each time shooting at a range to see if the 800 rpm claim is accurate, and a few historical documents would be welcome too, but we have neither of those, we only have one video on the internet of on FNAB being used at a shooting range. I am of the opinion that more material/evidence should be found about this gun before changing the gun in game.

Is the M2 carbine in any way significantly better than the T20? No. So there’s no reason to nerf it by restricting its availability to more limited classes.

Instead, they should introduce a carbine classification, similar to VG, and make these weapons available to virtually anyone.

M2 carbine really isn’t an assault rifle.

This turned out to be incorrect information (I think it was from Maxim Popenker). Firing is done from an open bolt.

I’ve edited my post to correct this mistake, thanks. For the Type 100, maybe it was used in ground roles, but this document just gives a small description of this gun, we don’t know to what extent it was modified, or if it was modified at all. When in doubt, they should at least model the Type 100 corrrectly with its two pistol grips and maybe the shoulder rest and rename it “Type 1” ? That would be a good compromise.

Exactly, why nerf and already obsolete weapon. Personally I think the best thing that could happen for the M2 Carbine would be for the T20 to be moved to BR6

You should really make individual suggestion threads for each weapon to keep it more organized

Shouldn’t it be more, between about 25 to 30?

(Granted 5 more is still better than the 15 bullet joke…)

Tank customisation update

I thought I would make a big topic like this because I generally start a topic when I have a fair amount of content, because I would find it quite useless to just start a topic for one suggestion for one weapon to basically just say: “This gun is inaccurate, we’ve already proven it on this other topic: insert link to other topic. Please fix.” I find these kinds of topics to be a bit redundant tbh.

The thing is, the M2 is basically a “machine carbine”, basically how the assault rifles were called before this term was created. For example: the MaschinenKarabiner 1936 MK 36/III is one such example, it is a carbine that shoots a small caliber bullet (9 mm) in full auto. In game it is only for the assault class. The same could be said about the MaschinenKarabiner 42 Haenel (MKb 42 (H)), it is a carbine that shoots a small caliber bullet (8 mm kurz) in full auto, and it is also only for the assault class.

Basically every full-auto weapon that shoots a cartridge weaker than a proper rifle cartridge should go to the assault class, while the rifleman/other classes have access to full-auto rifles and battle rifles. Which would mean that the Scotti naval rifle should go to the rifleman/other classes or the machinegunner class (depending on how the weapon is classified: a battle rifle or a LMG ?), but for now the main issue with the Scotti is the mag size.

I am not against a new M1 carbine “late war” that was refurbushed with a stronger magwell (so a 30 round mag) and a bayonet lug for the rifleman/other classes to replace the M2 carbine for the rifleman/other classes however.

I have never said no to new weapons, but it is silly that they have added the Hyde Carbine M1944 (which stayed only as a prototype) to the assault class only while it did the exact same thing as the M2 Carbine: shoot 30 rounds of .30 carbine in full auto. The M2 carbine would have been perfect in that role.

And we could also add that the M2 sawn off for Japan is only for the assault class.

This is total BS. Otherwise, the term “carbine” wouldn’t have been used after the introduction of the assault rifle.

Those terms are not interchangeable. There is a reason why the M4 is classified as a carbine assault rifle, while the M16 is only classified as an assault rifle.

Not all carbines are assault rifles. And not all assault rifles are carbines.

Numerous weapons could be reclassified as carbines.

For example Beretta 1918/30, KB-P-135, M1 carbine (and its variants), M2 carbine (and its variants), VG 1-5 or Mk 36 that you mentioned.

Yes, that’s exactly what I want. I don’t know if they (the planners) will take this small flaw seriously. By the way, this suggestion was first proposed by @OggeKing

I know, I tried to find a topic with all the needed infos on it, I didn’t search too much in the old topics to find his topic again, I just needed a topic with the gathered infos on it. Iirc he (@OggeKing) brought up the book/magazine with the old pic of this gun and all the historical infos, while I searched and found again the link to the forum where the pic of the fake gun was and posted it on this forum, because nobody knew where this idea of the devs of a carcano with a german scope came from.

I have already suggested that the semi-auto carbines shooting a small caliber round should be available to all classes, because these were issued to rear troops or specialist units and were more a PDW than a standard issue rifle. At the moment, in the game, we have: the M1 carbine (and its variants), the VG 1-5, the KB-P-135, the Beretta 1918 (after correction) and 1918/30. We could also add the De Lisle bolt-action carbine with these, and also the semi-auto pistols with a buttstock attached.

Ideally, I would also like to see all classes be able to use the standard bolt-action carbines and short rifles too, because they were issued to rear troops or specialist units and could also be used for assaults because of their small size.

This would make the option to choose a second weapon instead of a backpack more viable, because atm why would I choose to have two weapons of the same type ? There is no reason to choose this over the backpack.

I had made this suggestion here : Ideas for improving already existing classes

But anyway, what do you have to say @_DELAVR ? You’re the weapons specialist of the forum, so, should the M2 carbine stay as a rifleman weapon ? Should it be moved to the assault class instead ? Or should it be available to everyone ?
