The ZF41 scope in the game is obviously incorrect; this scope is compatible with the Kar 98k, not the Carcano M38 rifle.

I strongly recommend restoring the existing Carcano M38 scope to a ‘Salmoiraghi’ scope, as the existing images show that this scope is already mounted on the Carcano M38.

Someone has been using my research.

I don’t mind, go ham, hope this goes through, I’d rather have a experimental scope rather than a scoped rifle based on a post-war fake.

Yes, I think so too

Yes fix Carcano M38 scope and add Kar 98K zf41 scope in tech tree :smirk:

I think, it’s hard to make this mirror thing to devs.

It’s not. They will just outsource it and replace the model eventually.

But is worth it? Not really.

Type 96 has a similar scope, but it cannot be used.

AFAIK, they already did a fix like this with the FG 42 II Sniper version a while back, so why not here as well?

Really?

Somehow that doesn’t surprise me…

The FG 42 II Sniper used to have the G 43 sidemount, literally blocking the extraction port

Hah! Nice.

Well then, that does explain how a post-war faked rifle got past quality control.

Who the what now?

The current M38 sniper is almost certainly a fake, there are no records of Italy using the ZF41 scope on anything other than rifles supplied by Germany (so already mounted on the Kar98k), and the one real life example we’ve got is really sketchy.

So yeah, my humble opinion is that the specific rifle the weapon in game is a post-war fake.

Or they were just lazy

That’s pretty much the answer to every problem in this game.

Also, the damage of the M38 sniper model should be replaced with that of the 1891 sniper model. The 1891 sniper model uses 6.5mm, which is surprisingly higher than the 7.35mm M38, which is very strange

That’s… Strange…

I was doing research on Italian sniper rifles and found this example

Also where I found it

That looks like a Moschetto carbine rather than a M38. I’ve seen this perticular example before as well, I have my doubts about it as well…

This a M38 with an asterisk it is a M91 Moschetto but it was converted to use 7.35mm the link I provided stated the caliber stamped on the stock

Some rifles got rebored
