Japan isn't ready for BR 5

image

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to finish these before the next major update, but we want to show you now how Japan will burst into tier 5 battles and USA’s response to the monstrous Tiger II.

The faction is, to put it mildly- Behind.

The news concerning the future plans for the faction feature the Ho-Ri Production and apparently nothing else.

Both their WT equivalent BR averages at BR4 don’t go past 3.4.
The BR average for ground vehicles is 4.7 and 4.1 for planes.

At the present moment, they aren’t ready to have BR5 foisted upon them, let alone BR 4. Their vehicles are not only underperforming compared to other nations’, but they have severely hampered potential in the future, as well.

Their best candidate that doesn’t go past end of ww2 and into the realm of US handing out their tanks to the Japanese Ground Forces are 75mm-equipped tanks with penetration comparable to german pak 40s in the form of the Chi-Ri II and Chi-Tos.

Except for the Ho-Ri Production, which is a turretless SPG, all future and existing Japanese BR 3-4 tanks will be facing both Pershings and Super Pershings in the future. Notwithstanding the lack of information in the small arms department regarding what they’ll eventually use to fight these vehicles, as well as their automatic rifle/lmg/smg equivalent at BR5.

The issue is thankfully not present with their air tree, since they do have stuff that was natively made with performance comparable to late US planes.

But I do have to stress that the faction itself shouldn’t be going to BR5 any time soon. Even if they theoretically add the Ho-Ri Production. Which will be fighting in Pacific maps. On small islands. On uneven jungle terrain. Without a turret.

Please introduce more Japan faction content, but do not shoehorn them into BR5. We can just not introduce the Ho-Ri Production and keep them in BR 4 until the time Enlisted expands past ww2. If ever.

Prototype and heavy tank number .6 are other tanks that can be used in BR 5 so in total 3 tanks for BR5 also if devs decide to for once model real tanks(not flame tanks) then we can expect Chi-Ri 88 mm (pure fantasy)and chi-se (a real project we don’t know what it would have looked like but the best guess is Bigger CHI-RI with 10.5 cm gun and if you want to add fantasy maybe sloped armor big chi-ri with 10.5cm gun)

Also, there is type 4 90mm AT weapon if the devs decide to add which can pen 120 mm of armor more than enough to go through Pershing and superpershing 101 mm armor

I Do agree with this statement simply we can put Japan in BR 5 there are enough weapons to make a BR 5/ tier 5 but most stuff are either stuff that Japan didn’t own or never made or made in 1 or 2 digit numbers
For example, we can have Federov as SF rifle for Japan cause Japan redesigned Federov for their own use (only on paper)

Mag seems small so I guess it holds less ammo maybe 10 or 15 or mag is chambered in 7.7 and that’s 10 round mag
Or for the last smg before ARs we could give them Type 2 A model 1942 or as British troops called it Type 2 B which has 800 fire rate with low recoil and a magazine size of 50 or 30
image
Type II A of the 1942 model was slightly shorter than the 1934 model and did not have a device for attaching a bayonet.
The maximum set rate of fire is 820 rounds per minute. Could be fed either 30 or 50 rounds.
The British test group tested a modification of the Type II A submachine gun of the 1942 model, which showed excellent performance in automatic fire and was characterized as an easily controlled and accurate weapon with low weight, with minimal barrel drift, and low recoil.

I made a post about a Hypothetical BR5 for Japan if you are interested check it out

Japan DOESN’T NEED to be on BR 4 or BR 5 with complete fantasy weapons and Hor-Ny wooden mockup tanks or whatever.

Keep it on BR 1-3 and it can be a unique standout faction in the game.

Let’s face it, their equipment was shit and there’s no need to invent it now – Arisaka, Type 100, box mag LMG and Chi-Ha with Zero is all Japan needs to feel like WW2.

Heavy tank no 6 never made it to japan. And it would still suck against super pershing

Sadly the tokyo smg is way too op to be put in br 3. If they wouldnt have added it we could have easily moved all japanese t4 stuff into t3.

I know but if they are going to BR5 they might as well get it

Heavy Tank T26E1-1 “Super Pershing” upper plate is 162+38+38 mm of armor so yeah going through that is not going to happen but you can still shoot down the lower plate(72+38+38) also turret is 101 mm without angle and if you don’t try to shoot through Gun mantlet(114+80) you can definitely do something against it with Tiger’s PzGr 39 which has 165 pen at 10 meters

The only thing that genuinely puts Japan at BR 4 are their SMGs.

Every other thing at BR 4 is overtiered. BR corrections could lower their BR to 3 and keep it there, but then you’d have to take away anything more powerful than the SIG 1920.

Given how 1 test gun was produced and it broke during tests, I see absolutely zero sense in making it so good and at BR4.
It’s almost like the Fedorov 0 IQ situation but probably even worse.

They could nerf fedorov and tokyo but then people would begin to cry because their meta guns are not viable anymore

Japan very much not ready or might ever will be for BR V, There’s tons of low br equipments left to add and very little on high br And there’s still bike squad, shotguns, impact nades equivalent grenade (early type 4 nades) to add.

I even checked out japanese sources by the help of some japanese friends online.
There are no content.
Simply doesnt exist any.
I am not talking wiki search but academic resources.
Best thing to do is NOT forcing a goddman country that CANNOT compete in br 5 in any shape of form and call it a f…g day.
Or
You have to completely change gameplay and maps that not having a heavy tank will not mean absolute defeat and spaags and tank destroyer will be usefull which is impossible in current phase and maps.
DF managed to corner himself with his complete irrelevancy on state of the game and defiancy to make any substantial changes

for br 5 sadly they have as the sad good planes, a few tanks, the shielded hei, maybe anothe a2 gun, the bazooka and maybe a weird rocket launched with weird form

The only way I can see Japan moving forward is being in BR 4 limbo with special MM treatment.

Introduce the rest of the ww2 tanks and planes, then call it a day until it’s time for enlisted to go past ww2.

Do devs have plans for that ?

Even Japanese documents say it didn’t have a rpm above 625. I don’t understand how they got that 1200 rpm thing.

Hopefully not. At least not until everything is fleshed out.

4 factions are getting small, and it shows.

No and yes we have Tokyo arsenal of model 1927 not modified version of 1928

During comparative tests with the Bergmann MP18-I submachine gun (chambered 9x19mm with a TM-08 magazine (designed by Blum) for 32 rounds) in 1928, the Japanese experimental model of 1927 (The magazine feed was of a very unique design, curved cassettes for 10 rounds, similar to cassette clips for machine guns of the Hotchkins design. The cassettes were combined into a tape of 5 pieces and placed in a drum, 50 rounds in total. An alternative method of feeding was a box magazine with 30 (according to other sources 25) cartridges with a staggered arrangement of cartridges.)(8x22mm Nambu)showed a large number of delays in the supply of cartridges, a too high rate of fire (up to 1200 r/m) and rapid wear of parts.

The 1927 model was modernized in 1928, a pneumatic shock absorber was added to its design and the rate of fire was significantly reduced (adjustable from 300 to 600 r/m).
In the modernized experimental model of 1928, 6.5mm cartridges were tested. (corresponds to the designations of .25ACP or 6.35x16mmSR Browning cartridges adopted in Japan at that time), 7.7mm. (corresponding to .32ACP or 7.65x17mmSR Browning),and 7x20mm Nambu. Fed from box magazines (according to separate information, single-row small-capacity magazines with 20-25 rounds).
During repeated tests, the 1928 model failed due to a breakdown and was no longer tested, and did not receive recommendations for improvement.

So thanks for your comment we found 4 more SMG for Japan Tokyo arsenal 1927 ,30 or 25 mag fed (8x22mm Nambu/ RPM=1200)

Tokyo arsenal 1928 either mag fed(20 or 25) or drum (50)( 6.5mm cartridges/ depending on the cartridge from 300 to 600 rpm)

Tokyo arsenal 1928 either mag fed(20 or 25) or drum (50)(7.7mm/depending on the cartridge from 300 to 600 rpm)

Tokyo arsenal 1928 either mag fed(20 or 25) or drum (50)(7x20mm Nambu/depending on the cartridge from 300 to 600 rpm)
