Suomi for 50 rounds

Do you have documents as to what they provided Volunteers? Because if not then we have to assume it wasn’t supplied.

Any nation would fall eventually, switzerland how ever had made clear that they aint going to roll over and die.

Not exactly comparable to sweden.

Its kind of called prioritizing.
USSR also sent quite alot of its smgs to finnish front regardless it had “enemies” everywhere.

So what kind of differency are you expecting to do with them ?
And against what threat exactly ?

Nope.

It is, though…? Did you not know that Sweden planned to resist…?

Did you just… Completely miss out that my entire argument has been “they had to few to give out and were desperately trying to get more”…?

Yeah, their stocks were bad, that’s why they were desperate.

And if they were desperate for them, why would they be getting rid of the few they had…? Make it make sense.

It’s your own logic that is failing here.

Here’s a priority for you:

The Soviets were going to win the war, no matter what, even if Sweden had fully joined as a co-belligerant.

There was no saving Finland, there was however stalling for time whilst rearming, and making a Soviet victory as costly as possible without bringing Sweden into the war.

So did france, denmark & poland.

Nope, im more or less questioning why not send them where they are needed.
Regardless is it one, two or three.

Sure, question was more or less if finland had fallen entirely and soviets came to knocking swedens door.
Wouldnt it be better to try to stop them preferably long before they get to swedens porch.
And if this is the scenario, no matter what sweden would have done they would have fallen to soviets as well.
And if this is the scenario sweden was afraid of I doubt they could have spared even rifles to theyr volunteers.

Because they’re needed at home and not somewhere else. If you don’t have enough of X you’re not going to give it away when you need it

Look, at this point just concede the issue, I’m not having the “what’s the point” argument with you if you don’t understand the importance of being a hard target and how that factors into the “profit vs risk” calculation which decides if invasions are worth it.

They were needed at home, full stop.

Was never going to happen.

Baseless speculation once more…?

It’s getting quite clear, you have no clue what you are talking about, on anything about this topic… Fish out of water.

I’m just going to ignore you now.

Swedish military plan for WW2 was “be a hedgehog, and hope people leave you alone and that everything passes over you”.

Considering that is what actually happened, the strategy was a success.

End of story, come back when you have proof of m/37s in use by Finland.

I get your point, I just dont exactly understand what miracle you are expecting couple of thousand smgs to do against either super power ? USSR or GE

To practise shooting ?

In what sense ? If Finland had fallen, most likely GE would have been quite intrested to secure the iron resources of sweden do you think the GE would have thought
“Oh fk those guys got 2k smgs better not to”
Or if USSR was in the Tornio, you think they would have also decided not to due to 2k smgs ?

Well I doubt sweden was preparing to defend against norway or denmark ?
That leaves just 2 possibilities the GE or USSR and if such threat was knocking on your door you most likely could not give up a single weapon.
Kinda like Finland quit selling smg’s once the winter war began.

Yes, im sure the swedish hedhehog tactic was the thing that kept everyone away.

I take this as you, the expert of the subject after all aint walking to university and providing us the documents what was sent with volunteers ?

Not to someone as dense as you.

You have consistently fallen back on every argument, you have nothing, even now youre backtracking.

What’s the point? You lost, there is no argument, you’re in fairy world creating scenarios in your own mind.

You have the numbers, I’d just be fetching the book where they’re written, nothing is going to change, reality says that Sweden didn’t send any SMGs, if you have proof of the contray, present them.

The explenations have been provided, it’s your issue now that you can’t accept reality.

Bro thinks that giving away guns means you’ll have more.

Only way to increase SMG stores is to maintain the ones you already have at the same time.

It’s basic maths.

Oh wow, swedish volunteers had lmg’s, mortars even artillery to some extend.
All which are by far more essential tools to any nations defense than smg.
And you keep pretending this 2000 smg’s was the heart of swedish hedgehog that scared everyone away and sacred as kings virginity and must be protected at all cost.

Quite sure I provided the link which mentions kpist37-39 to be supplied, regardless in how scarce numbers to swedish volunteers.
As Ive mentioned couple of times by now, im not expert of your glorious hedgehog tactic country that everyone was afraid of. So I do not have the university of swedish military might of ww2 for my disposal to either prove or disprove the mentions of kpist37-39 supplying to volunteers.

You kinda told that you will walk to this “magnificient swedish ww2 military might university” and provide us with detailed document what exactly was sent with volunteers.

Doubt I ever said that. Just highlighting that its quite alot better to stop the enemy long before it gets to your border so the logical thing would be to supply the needed tools for the troops that are doing so.

Except you have failed to explain what exactly was mighty swedish hedgehog to going to accomplish with ~2000 smg’s.
It is after all just a submachine gun.

Troll.

Once and always, should have know.

Grok is not a reference.

Dear lord, even we both know the worlds shortest book is the swedish war heroes of ww2 not even the swedish hedgehog experts wasnt relying on 2000 smg’s against either super power.
Probably for that exact reason sweden let german troops pass thru sweden rather than use those miraculous 2000 smg’s against germans.

thou shall thank god you are between norway & finland.

Like I said, I do not have the access to “Mighty swedish military power of ww2 university”

maybe this post is just a test, to snuff out the greyparrots among us?

As is well known, these countries have never truly been neutral.
Just as a vassal state, it provides assistance in various tasks such as logistics.

However, the United States has 50-round Lancashire SMG.
Japan has 50-round 1920 SMG.
Germany has 40-round Beretta SMG.
They are all at level 3.

all of them are stuck at 600 rpm fire rate.
Guns with higher fire rate (and large mag) are BR4.
Type 2 SMG, Király, Thompson M1928A1 drum.

Sweden did not send or sell small arms to Germany.

Finland did not buy or recieve any Kpist m/37s.

Sorry, no way that this gun would show up during WW2 (except in Norway at the end of the war, I guess).

I don’t even see the point in arguing about this (when there is no proof), the Suomi is the original version of the gun and does accept the same 50 round magazine, just use that instead.

  • Period photographs from SFK units in northern Finland show occasional SMGs among otherwise rifle-armed troops
  • Weapon historians have identified these as Suomi-pattern guns, which in Swedish service correspond to Kpist m/37 / m/37-39

Referenced in:

Dugelby & Westberg, Svenska vapen under 1900-talet
Swedish Army Museum (Armémuseum) photographic archives

Mentions are here and there, but im sure the magnificient swedish military might university of ww2 can prove everyone wrong.

Just your word against others word, making silly claims and pretending this smg was some kind of holy grail that must be protected like kings virginity.

It is just smg.
If the situation for your country is so horrible that you can provide smg’s for your only fighting unit because “needs” you sure as fk wont supply them with artillery or lmg’s either.
Which both, has by far more significant impact on battlefield.

Hell, atleast make a excuse that swedes made guns but forgot to make ammunition and even that is more plausible.

Yes, the Finns used their own SMGs?

See how weasily this sentence is…?

It simply says “Finns game Suomis to Swedish volunteer”, and then “the guns in Swedish service are called X or Y”.

That’s not the same as saying “they brought these from Sweden”. That’s like saying Germany used Canadian produced Browning Hi-Powers because they were also being manufactured in occupied Belgium.

Didn’t happen.

YOU CAN’T READ

Sweden adopted the SMG in 1937, they had less than a thousand when the war started. There were no SMGs to give.

STOP TALKING ABOUT THINGS YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND.
