USSR and Germany currently lack semi-automatic shotguns in their tech trees at BR 2. From a historical accuracy/use quantity perspective, the FN Browning Auto 5 was the most widely used semi-automatic shotgun for each faction during WW2, though unofficially. This might be somewhat boring from a variety perspective, but it leaves other domestic or import semi-automatic shotgun options to be used as event or premium weapons.
Would you like to see the FN Browning Auto 5 added to the Germany tech tree?
The Walther Toggle-Lock is a cool gun, but it was far less commonly used. I certainly want it in the game as well.
People would argue which one should be the tech tree weapon while the other is event, but I think both are great additions, so long as one gets added to the tech tree.
Valkay mentioned the recent thread about it. I am aware of it too, which is why I thought about it and made this thread as well.
Germany could get the Walther Toggle-Lock and USSR could get the Sjogren, with Auto 5s as event or premium weapons, but I figured with the use quantity + ease of adding the weapon to the other trees, the Walther could be added outside of the tree too.
While I world perfer the Walther toggle, it’s Gaijin we’re talking about. So the best we can hope for is something that german DID us and is photograph. That’s why I voted yes
I feel similarly. In terms of getting something for Germany (and USSR) in the game, it’s the path of least resistance (especially since the model already exists for the game, and the developer time seems increasingly low with every passing update).
I totally get why people don’t want copypasta, though it is a gun everyone used, Japan received the copypasta treatment as well, and it’s a niche weapon type limited to BR 1 and 2.
