The Crusader AA Mk III (AA stands for “anti-aircraft”) was used by British armored units during the Battle of Normandy, as well as by the 1st Polish Armoured Division. Since the Luftwaffe did not deploy its air forces on a massive scale, the role of these tracked vehicles in Normandy was not decisive. However, in August 1944, Polish forces operating in the Falaise region used the Crusader AA’s armament for direct fire against ground units.

Version 2 of Crusader AA
The Crusader III was also used to create self propelled anti-aircraft guns. First was the Crusader III, AA Mk I which replaced the 6-pounder in the enclosed turret with a Bofors 40 mm anti-aircraft gun with an autoloader and powered mounting in an open-topped turret. The crew numbered four: gun commander, gun layer, loader, and driver. It was intended for use by organic AA units in armoured formations.
If i am not wrong it was just a prototype what didnt see combat!
