Folding Stock Beretta 38/43 for Axis

The Beretta Model 38 SMG was a very successful design, and a folding-stocked version of it was a natural development. Beretta first made a prototype of such a thing in 1941, but it never went into production – possibly because Italy ceased to have an effective paratrooper corps after El Alamein. However, many of the design elements from this experiment saw use in the simplified 38/42 and 38/44 models of the Beretta SMG. Late in the war, a small batch of folding-stocked guns were actually produced (one source says about 200) specifically for the RSI. This was the puppet government Germany operated in northern Italy after the country surrendered to Allied forces.

This particular example came out of the Balkans, and managed to acquire a Yugoslav nation crest along the way – although I don’t know the details of how. Thanks to Limex for giving me access to this extremely rare piece to film for you guys!

It uses Beretta Model 38 than i am sure its in 9mm Luger

Battle Rating i think it depends on the mag.

Feed system 10, 20, 30, or 40-round detachable box magazine

I think 20, 30 rounds would be more Br2 maybe 30 rounds could be Br 3 as well i think it depends on the other weapon stats, i think 40-round,s would be most likely Br3
I think the silly 10 round would be Br1 but i am no fan of this.

The folding mechanism hase prblems with the most of the mag sizes .
See linked Video.

Other Idears from me.

I should have a photo of one of them in RSI service.

Luftwaffe General Kurt Maeltzer, the German commander of the “Open City” of Rome, pictured by a Propagandakompanie [PK] photographer in March 1944 while condescendingly saluting an Italian soldier. Note the Beretta submachine gun: it is not the MAB 38A issued to the PAI and the Barbarigo battalion, but a rare version with a short barrel and a folding strut-style stock— (possibly the Mod. 43, produced in limited numbers for special forces and tank crews.)

mab38 -43

and another on the MAB38A (likely homemade)
