Remove Soviet Body Armor (with ticket compensation, of course)

Thats incorrect, IRL past 40m it would stop 9mm parabellum aka SMG rounds. Angling likely also deflected alot.

It simply did not have the strength to deflect full size rifle ammunition however.

In game it should actualy have a stronger damage reduction vs SMGs, but that would be even more op (esp since it just applied hit box reduction to everywhere including back of torso etc)

Personally I want soldiers to survive longer, esp with more powerfull vehicles arriving constantly to the scene.

So no disagree, with removing body armor,

instead add it to more squads, and more nations.

I just watched this video and they explained how it was only really useful in close quarters against smgs and pistols but rifles wouldn’t be affected by it, so why not just make it only give a 10% damage reduction to explosions and smgs/pistols, therefore it’s still effective but can be countered easily.

I don’t want to remove it either.

No, body armour was rare, also why not let nations have some uniqueness.

Let me offer something a little different, my solution to the problem of Soviet body armor.
I prefer a slightly different solution—to give ALL factions body armor in customization.

For the Allies

And this for USA

Yes, it’s not entirely historical, but it was developed before the end of World War II, and besides, we already have the T20. It won’t get any worse.

For Germany

Sappenpanzer

Yes, I couldn’t find any photos of it being used in World War II, although I did find some references to it. But… we have Americans with T-20s and M1944 Hydes fighting Japanese with Type Hey automatic rifles, Tokyo Arsenal submachine guns, Type 100 double-barreled machine guns, and Ho-Ris. How historical is that?

Besides, it has been lying in the editor for a long time.

And sometimes German use captured Soviet Body armor.

Specifically, the “Army Officer’s Bulletproof Vest” (陸軍将校 防弾胴衣) model developed by the East Asia Industrial Research Institute is structurally classified as the flexible Andō-shiki type.**

They are already in the game, worn by premium Japanese motorcyclists. So maybe just move them to the general customization for Japan?

And that’s just a small part of it; Japan actually had a lot of armor.

In general, my opinion is that the bonus for Soviet body armor should NOT be removed. All factions should simply be given their own body armor for customization, and everything will be fine.

People who pair with the vitality perk are awful to fight against. Truly, their kind was not meant for this world where people at least pretend to be decent.

Guys, how do I know if a squad has body armour?

Do they always have it if it’s on the model?

They fucking wear it, you moron. It’s literally part of their clothing. That’s why it’s BS since it’s not like an unique buyable item like Japan’s katana, it’s a cosmetic that you can get with the millions of free cosmetics orders that are constantly given to you

Bruh, I just meant are there any squads that don’t have it on the model, but get it anyway. Average American without manners lmao.

I can try to get screenshots, but they literally just look like normal guys in body armour

İs it true that if you buy cosmetic skin with armour you get the damage reduction?

Yes, as far as I know

if this was only on one squad of assault engineers, nobody would care if only soviets had this uniqueness. but cause you can equip it on every soldier it creates unfair advantage and should either be available to all or to none.

Soviets and Japan used it en masse in WW2. For commies it was a engineer/ urban warfare equipment and for Japanese late in war they tried to make their inf more survivable vs US firepower.

Axis, UK , USA all used it in rarer qualities (allies late in war, axis as captures) - as such right now I think the only nation that qualifies for purchesable (via cosmetics) would be Japan.

I would like to see more Allies/ Axis body armor in limited qualities, kinda how Japan currently does (para rifle plate, motor bike squad body armor) as shown above.

No, they didn’t use them on mass, there isn’t exact records how how many were produced but around 10,000 were estimated to be made, by 1945 the soviet army numbered around 11 Million. So about 0.09% of the soviet army might of had access to body armour. That’s absurdly rare, as for Japan their body armour is mostly experimental and probably didn’t see much (if any) action.

My knowledge of the matter was that SN-42 was ordered at 100,000 in 1942

Then why not limit it to some event/ BP soilders and a select few event squads, then nobody would care. But if the option to give body armour to every soviet soilder exists people with naturally trying and give them self any benefit meaning that they will equip it to everyone making it wat to common.

Its rare, my point is that both JP and USSR used them STILL MORE than Allies or Axis. Only 1 UK para division dropped with body armor in 1944, and US marines used them in Okinawa? (or someother island landing)

Purely anicdotal, unless you have any source that proves more than 10,000 were made and issued then we can’t go off a untrust worthy source. But even if 100,000 were produced that’s still 1% of the entire soviet army, not really “standard issue” meaning it’d still be suitable for event squads.

The soviets may have used it more but even the Soviet’s use of it was extremely limited, to put it simpler, 2 is twice as much as 1 but 2 is still very little.

100k is more than half the weapons in the research trees production run.
Even 10k would qualify.

Its fine, were speaking of degrees of difference here. At the end of the day most players would like to see more survivability mechanics,

Ive suggested a bunch in my write ups:

Vehicles are only getting stronger, we need more infantry comeback and or survivability features. NOT LESS
