Seems pretty convenient that paratroopers can drop directly onto the roof of the building, above an objective.
Just played Steel Mill (Normandy), and the match was neck-and-neck through the entire battle.
Playing as Axis Defense, by the time the allies reached the last objective, they had less than 100 tickets remaining.
Lo-and-Behold, an airborne squad lands on the rooftop of the building where the final objective was located.
Not only did the roof have windows that had access to slaughter all the unsuspecting players below, the paratroopers were ALSO able to capture the objective from the roof. We lost the 5th objective in about 60 seconds. Seems like a great way to exploit the game with six soldiers armed with 100 round thompson machine guns.
It was a fun match… up until pay-to-win determined the final outcome.
They didn’t have to do any work at all. They skipped the fun part, where it’s a team effort to push across open terrain, and fight their way inside the building.
Here’s a great sale slogan you can use for marketing the Paratroopers in the game-store: Check it out!
With the click of a button, NOW you spawn anywhere on the battlefield (including the rooftops of objectives). All yours for a low price of $59.99! Who cares if it’s not realistic! By spawning behind the enemy whenever you want to, now you can win almost every match!!! Forget strategy, it’s outdated and old news. Especially when you can buy yourself a squad of 6 soldiers with 100 round Thompsons submachine guns! Why would you want to constantly run 200meters to the next objective, when you can spawn behind an enemy tank and blow it up with TNT?! You’d be an idiot for not buying our paratrooper squad! The enemy has them, and so should you!!!
Since when did WW2 C-47’s fly solo missions into the middle of a raging battle, to deliver a single squad of paratroopers onto the roof of a building being defended by the enemy?
That would be suicide, which is why the 101st Airborne, the 82nd Airborne, and the 6th British Airborne were deployed as entire divisions during the invasion.
13,000 paratroopers were deployed during D-Day…
And 35,000 deployed during Market Garden…
But in Enlisted, a single C-47 can appear from nowhere, and deliver a special operations squad, directly onto the objective. And if done correctly, these deliveries can occur just moments after a capture point is taken.
In my humble opinion, giving veteran players the ability to air-drop right onto the objective, was a terrible idea. Especially considering the fact that whenever an objective is lost, it takes about 60 seconds for the defenders to retreat back, or respawn and race 200m to the objective (before the enemy gets there first.)
God forbid if you take the time to try and build a rally point, because the enemy is already inside capping the objective.
Especially when a veteran player deploys his paratroopers directly ontop of the roof, and slaughter the few soldiers/squads who are trying to prepare for the next wave of enemy soldiers.
Since we’re no longer focused on Historical Accuracy, can we get BlackHawk helicopers next? Or Little Birds with Gatling guns? I’m a really good Helicopter pilot in Battlefield 3 and 4, and it’s be super fun mopping up IS-2’s, T-34’s, Jumbo’s, and P-47’s with some Hellfire missiles. Can we also get Halo drops from 30,000 feet?
