pure delusion. noobs wont be using half the potential of paratroopers, while experienced players will abuse them. not to mention lot of noobs wont have access to them cause premium/event squad.
and the reason was cause allies had air supremacy.
and they were jumping at night, behind enemy lines and often missed landing spots by miles. they were not jumping on battleground in day with pinpoint precision like you can in game.
Paratroopers also didn’t usually drop onto active combat zones. The Germans famously suffered significant casualties in Crete during their initial drops thanks to extensive ground fire from alert ground forces.
The fact that most nations carefully avoided such actions only lends more validity to the need for greater risk for combat drops of forces into an active battle.
Well, no, but they did do so on occasion, like on Leros in 43, and even in OMG the Poles did drop over an active battle space to sight but two examples, even follow on drops by the British in OMG could be argued as having happened over an active battle space.
I think the main issue at hand, as history is not necessarily a good reference hear, as Enlisted is far more game, than Sim, is weather or not it’s good for game play, personally I don’t have an issue with how the Paras work atm but I have only used them a few times so far myself.
The paratrooper implementation, has ruined the Normandy campaign for the players who have not shelled out $60 to DF.
The only people who benefit from paratroopers being added to the game, are the ones who paid for the privilege of being able to spawn wherever they want on the battlefield. Everybody else suffers.
well best example of what happens to paratroopers that jump into battlezone in middle of day is battle of crete where germans were either massacred when they landed correctly, or survived when they landed incorrectly.
i find that there are many issues with current para mechanism. they are too accurate in landing and if you are focused on dealing with frontal assault, paras can cut your reinforcement by destroying rally points. not to mention landing on inaccessible spots and being masters of all trades with their box. and they are currently not available in normal progression tree making them p2w squad.
tl;dr summary: p2w squad that can spawn anywhere with any weapon without any effective counter. they need nerf and easiest way to nerf them, while keeping their uniqueness is to have their transport longer in air so it can be countered, either by AA, or by fighter.
This is becoming the wailing wall. You can’t have the best of both worlds. Spend the money and you get those features, dont spend the money then play accordingly and adapt. The “ complaint “ culture as to stop. Cant make the game as you see pleased if you decide to opt out in not getting paras.
Have you seen the newest update in the forum? They are going to increase the prices.
Why TF would anybody waste $60, for the priveledge of being able to exploit the map, and spawn on top of new players, A.I., and a handful of human players?
no. p2w squads need to stop. you either implement them into regular progression, or not at all. when they are implemented as regular squads, they can have as many premiums as they want.
but overall even if they are implemented as regular squad, they need nerf cause they are now single most powerful squad in game.
At least with Art, it’s a physical item that you can hold in your hand.
But here… It’s a digital product.
Of which, can be changed, Nerfed, removed entirely from the game…
And as a paying customer, you’re the one who gets the shaft when the company decides to make drastic changes without asking your opinion/approval.
So? Video games can’t be an art? Yet people still buy games for $70s and are fine with that. Making buyable things in a FREE GAME are what makes games free.
