The idea of depriving Stalingrad engineers of assault rifles is absurd. Darkflow has made automatic rifles available to many engineers. Why is Stalingrad’s Mkb.42 the only exception?
If what you say is correct, neither the Soviet AVT-40 nor the American M2 Carbine should be used by engineers. They are all rifles equivalent to or better than the Mkb.42.
The same goes for the claim that it is difficult to explain to new users. There are so many premium weapons that new users cannot obtain. Why only Stalingrad?
An assault rifle fires an intermediary round, which is slightly stronger than a pistol round but smaller and weaker than a full powered rifle round, and an automatic rifle fires a rifle round. I liken it to, an automatic rifle is a rifle and an lmg had a baby, and an assault rifle is a rifle and SMG had a baby.
Now I know some people would say who cares it’s a gun it’s just gotta kill, and I get that but ideally everything should have a role.
I’d say the issue is this game is whishy washy with damage numbers, where something should do X but for some reason it does Y for some arbitrary game reason.
No it is a battle rifle
There are a few other weapons that were haphazardly placed that I hope they rectify at some point
It will be even higher because it won’t be a regular assaulter using it; it will be a specialist. If it is not that way, it might be a good idea to start looking at measuring BR in accordance with certain soldier classes with the weapons in their loadout.
This might even solve the federal and AVT engineer issues as well and make axis mains happy as well. This will also benefit the Soviets at lower tiers, so they don’t have to go against MKB spammers like in Stalingrad. All is balanced.
Both of them can use them just like Engineers in Berlin get to use AVT and AVS. What I am proposing is that the BR should not only include weapons but also take into account soldier classes that are using them. That way, low-tier Soviets don’t get mismatched with MKB engineer spammers, and Axis players get to have another toy at the cost of a higher BR (more with the engineer).
So basically, Hitler and his homies realize they are getting whooped. They know they need as many advantages as possible, so they go through many levels of warfare, from technology strategy, and tactics. When they looked at the tactics in battle, they calculated that the majority of engagements were happening from 100-200 meters away. Using a bolt action rifle, while extremely powerful, is limited. Due to the Soviets’ sheer number size when attacking and being that close, it would be impossible to hold them off with a Kar 98k if they rushed and your squad MG wasn’t set up, or it ran out of bullets, etc. So, the Germans realized it would be better to sacrifice the power of a rifle round for an intermediate cartridge, not too strong but also not too weak. A carbine, if you will. That way, when you have a soviet horde at your gates at 100-200 m, you have 30 rounds that are powerful enough to kill but have less recoil and don’t take away ammunition from your MG. This isn’t exactly how it happened, but it explains the importance of why it was created.
An Automatic rifle is what we call a Battle rifle. This is a semi/automatic rifle that reloads by itself using a gas system. So, every way, it is used as a normal rifle, but you don’t have the hassle of manually reloading it.
For some reason, this doesn’t stop soviet spammers from using it like an Assualt rifle though…
Depending on what br will look like, those seem very close in the tech tree, to a point there won’t be any reason to bring it, when you can bring better for no real BR difference…
It’s not high enough if there are people still thinking it can be a meta. They will think twice before having a bunch of engineers with MKBs
There is, though; you would have to have to go against top-of-the-line gear equipped with a bunch of specialists if you even think about MKB spam with engineers. At that point, it is a game of skill, and everyone is happy and balanced. You wouldn’t want to make it unbalanced and a large group of buyers from the game, would you?
That is a Battle rifle, which the Soviets have, not an assault rifle, which the Soviets do not have except for the AS 44, which is assault only. This is meant as a compromise to keep buyers happy but also not to infringe on the game’s balance. You don’t want to have angry buyers who quit buying because of this, do you?
Annnnnnd here is where I see the merge and BR being convoluted
The Sturmgewehr Mkb should only be available in 1942 “campaigns”. Theoretically it shouldn’t even appear in the same battles as the MP 43, Stg-44, and FG-42
