Woman became a important part of the Volkssturm, espacially after february 1945. Woman recieved training on the Panzerfaust just like their male counterparts.

So, what to add to this squad?
Personally i would make the squad consist of 5-7 woman accting as AT-gunners (with the possibillity of adding one male soldier as like a commander and make him a rifleman). 0 engineers.
They could have some of the following weapons:
- The Panzerfaust 30. A smaller version of the Panzerfaust 60 with less penetration. They could also instead recieve the Faustpatrone 30 (also known as Panzerfaust 30 klein), an even smaller version.

(Only if the primary weapon is chosen to be BR IV-V they could get the Panzerfaust 150
)

One of these would fit the role of the AT-weapon
- Their primary weapons could in theory be mixed as the Volksstrum was supplied with what was available. In 1945 it wasnt unusual to see a Volkssturm Battalion equiped with different weapons. Potentail weapons include:
a) The plain old Kar98 Kriegsmodell/VG2/VG1-5
b) A rechambered version of the Carcano in 8mm Mauser

c) Maybe a controversial take but if they recieve a mixed loadout of primary weapons, one or at max. two could only get a pistol. Such as the
Mauser Volkspistole https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9WZ5JeDFZ4 ,
Walther Volkspistole https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbsekVhgets&t=30s
or just a P38 or something along those lines
GiltBurrito7238-live made a great post on the enlisted forums on february 1st 2025 with the topic being Volkssturm weapons

What BR should this squad be ?
It really depends on the primary- and AT-weapon they get and on how much pen the Enlisted devs give the Panzerfaust 30 / 30 klein / Panzerfaust 150 (depending on which they choose of course)
So as an example if the squad would recieve the MP508 as a primary they have to be at least BR IV if not even V. Where as this squad could easily be BR II if they only get rechambred version of the Carcano. And the Panzerfaust 30 /30 klein of course.
Mixing their primarys would create a problem if you want to add for example the MP 508 on two soldiers, the HIW Volkssturmkarabiner on three, a pistol on one and a rechambered Carcano on the last. Mixing like this would probably be the most historical accurate (not looking at the fact the MP 508 may only have one or two prototypes).
You don´t have to mix their primaries and also:
different rifles at the same BR (even if one or two have a pistol) - okay
different rifles accros multiple BRs - not okay
.
Thank you for reading this rather long post.
- Yes, good idea
- Yes, but …
- No, because…
