It does pretty well in CQC and mid range, while the PPD only excels at CQC you can take advantage of this by taking out enemies at mid range then close in to capture the point or hold the mid range to allow, that works very well in the forest maps and most Moscow city maps, and of course you can always get in and kill everyone at CQC, it will still kill fast enough.
Knife does quite well too, it still doesnt mean its effective as PPD / PPSh which was the discussion here.

I’m upgrading most of my teutonic henchmen with FG42 though, I find the larger mags than Gw43 to be worth it.
FG is such a disgustingly good gun even without upgrades that I’m amazed it hasn’t been locked to a class yet.
I haven’t researched Russians far enough, but if the SVT is actually comparable to FG I guess they are fine.
It’s the US in Normandy that have no direct equivalent to the FG.
Jerry gets an upgraded rifle at level 21, while the US at the same level get a sidegrade (at best), the option to equip any soldier with a hard to use SMG.
Which btw does NOT mean that it is impossible or unfairly hard to face FGs with Garands.

I am playing soviets now, insane how the equipment is so much better than axis in Moscow, just unlocked the winchester, still better than any axis weapon in Moscow, not to mentio the ppd34/38 unlocked at level 11 which is better than any axis weapon in Moscow by light years.
The ppl that say Moscow is balanced are either delusional, trolls or new to the game.

If you are using the mp40 as a ppd then you are doing something wrong because it’s not a ppd, it’s an mp40. The tank front is equal, pz4e will nuke tanks with the aphe round if it works the same as the Normandy one, German CAS is still hell of annoying to deal with. German LMGs tend to be better though I do need to unlock mg13 to compare to madsen. Oh German BAs tend to be better in damage, pull time and sights

ah yes because the t-50 has tiger 1 levels of armor and has the gun of a kv-2 now we most step back into reality where t-50 has good frontal armor and shit turret traverse and the same gun as bt-7 and t-26. so just like real life; side shots will usually do the trick thanks to a 3 crew member limit
well a memer is correct since i dab on jumbos with the 3n but the 4E has an anti infantry weapon so it’s doing it job damn well as well as having great APHE but if you want to we could replace the APHE with one of the 2 HEAT rounds.
oh you be surprised since the issue with LMGS is that people didn’t use them as LMGs they used them as assault rifles with germany being the main culprit of it and still useful if you actually use them as lmgs
that’s more of an issue with DMS being fucked for all sides but what i find annoying is that they can get a total of 950 kilo of bomb weight since they can have both a stuka and bf110 up at the same time
