Vesely V-42: A BR 5 9mm SMG For The Allies

The Vesely V-42 was an experimental SMG developed in Great Britain, by the czech refugee Josef Vesely. In addition to a high rate of fire, the weapon is equipped with a 60 round magazine. This magazine was functionally two double-stack 30 round magazines, feeding into the chamber in tandem.

Regardless of how the weapon is acquired, it could make for a great alternative to the .45 ACP Thompsons at BR 5, and increases the Commonwealth presence within the Allies tree. There is also the Vesely V-43, which is quite similar but is easily deconstructed for paratroopers.

I think prototypes shouldn’t be in the RT. Special squads, event prizes, or seasonal rewards sure

The submachine gun with bayonet combination can only be released in limited quantities as a Battle Pass weapon; otherwise, this Allied submachine gun would be ridiculously overpowered.

Event, Premium, or BP, all would be fine.

Since we do have Thompsons in the Tech Tree, that were used by both powers, the TT need is lesser. I think TT slots should first go to historical gear nessesary to athentically represent that (sub-)faction, when there isn’t a balance need to drive the TT implementation.

That being said, I won’t throw a hissyfit if it is added in the TT… I only will if they then go on to make the Sten Mk V a non-TT item.

Rather have a BRV german drum mag smg before something that reminds of of kiraly but american… however im not against it so i wont vote… not like it matters much or this comment.

Rightfully so. BRV is the land of prototype tech tree weaponry. Was this because of a simple tank and people’s inability to cope and create solutions for their struggles though? Yes.

Looking back at it real quick it seems it started with the pershing but was that after t20? i guess a battle rifle was the start but it still applies considering m2c was… acceptable.

Well, most Allied and Japanese BR5 weapons are prototypes or one of a kind guns so I personally dont think that standard equipment should be tech tree argument matters here.

Yes and no.

As I said, we do have Thompsons in high BRs, which both the US and the Commonwealth used, so in the SMG arena it isn’t as pressing a need.

So by that logic we need a BRV smg used by italians for germany? Oh right… that argument is only allowed when used from your angle.

Its hard to argue against that.
You are right here and yet I must double down on my own stance.
I believe that some calibre diversity is important and frankly there arent a whole lot of guns Allies could get that are BR4 or 5 worthy and dont fire the same 45.acp

It seems that I am both a Axis-main and anti-Axis, depending on who reads my replies.

Interesting.

This is just a World War II history game, not the real World War II. We don’t have any deep-seated hatred for each other. Of course, we can drink tea and chat together in front of the screen, or we can fight bloody battles on the screen. Isn’t that cool?

Naturally!

I’ve always said the game would be unfun if the enemy didn’t have the fair capacity to shoot back.

It wouldn’t be sporting, otherwise! Or fun!
