There wasnt a video camera handy at Guadalcanal when john basilone ran belt after belt from his 1919 from the hip. But according to his MoH citation, witnesses, and the burns on his hands firing the 1919 from the hip was done and adding the bar handle or a section of bailing wire to the barrel was done during the war for that exact purpose. Not sure what your argument is here? By the same logic show me a video of the mg42 fired from the hip. Or a type 11 even.

If they do that they better give us a tripod. The mounting system in this game is horrendous. The fact i can sit perfectly still in a window and the mounting just suddenly fails tells me i don’t want weapons to rely on that poor mechanic.
I think just adding hip-fire and moving it to rank III is good enough to be honest the 1919 is pretty strong fired from the hip in this game because it’s very accurate and controllable also add a suppression mechanic it’s too easy to beat what should be a well-positioned gunner by just stopping out in the open and doming him trust me it has happened more than once to me it’s an especially bad issue with Bot squads and squadmates the whole point of a machinegun is suppression and route denial.
