The turret was tiny and lead to an effective firerate of 2 shots a minute, because they mounted a 76mm gun in a turret designed to house a 50mm gun
The crew was effectively blind, with cases of T-34s getting shot over 30 times without returning fire simply because they couldn’t spot the enemy
The armor was of inferior production quality, leading to armor thin enough for the 37mm gun to penetrate the UFP and armor that would literally fall apart because of the engine vibrations after a couple of months
The sloped side armor proved to be horrible and the T-44 got rid of that because that part of the design was very bad
The christie suspension proved to take up a lot of space inside the hull and the T-44 got rid of that because that part of the design was very bad
The turret ring got enlargened 2-3 times in its production run because that part of the design was very bad
The germans did almost entirely copy the T-34 with one of the T-34 prototypes, but it wasn’t good enough when compared to the panther prototype that got approved of production
The final result is that even early Pz3s could go toe-to-toe with the T-34. The T-34 simply was produced at such a high quantity that it buried all of this inferiority by cases of 20 T-34s kekking on a single panther. Also late war T-34 is day and night compared to early T-34.
And the issue is that all of this inferiority would not be modeled in war thunder or enlisted.
That’s why I put the tank numbering limits poll on top because without any limits, tank balance will be chaotic and I agree with you
and yes, american half tracks would be cool too
I left that to be discussed in the comments. Close-answer polls are too hard to be done just yet
OK, dude…jeez
It was still a very good design for early war. Do you want me to say it was a bad tank?
There were hundreds of reports by the German army that they have troubles against the t-34
Can we please end this argument now? It has nothing to do with the topic
There is a large difference between “I think it would be neat so let’s add it” and “If it gets added the balance will get fucked up so much I will just quit the game”. As said, your polls do not reflect the latter properly at all, so most of these votes should be taken with a big grain of salt.
I swear all i see you doing is complaining about the game, and then complaining about people trying to talk or find solutions for the game. You seem incredibly toxic, id take a break if i was you.
Yeah i get that, the game in this stage is triggering to everyone, however, people seem to be trying to be constructive and all ive seen from Tcat is shitting on peoples ideas etc. Obviously i may be wrong but thats what ive seen.
I am simply trying to make people stop and think what the ramifications are of their suggestion.
(bit over the top) Example:
Sure, adding 10 Sherman (M4/M4A1/M4A2/M4A3/Jumbo+76mm variants) types could be fun and all, but wouldn’t they get repetitive? How flooded would the campaign get if they are all unlocked there? How obsolete will the old models become if you just unlock a better tank every time? How will it affect newbies? How will it affect the overall balance in the gamemode? How will they fare against the same-class stuff from the other nation like the Puma or Pz4? Will it subtract from the infantry aspect of the game?
People see a shiny thing and just want it in the game, which isn’t always the best decision. And I personally think I have played long enough to be able to tell when people should think about their suggestion a bit more.
For example, initially @73507743 here wanted to see the T-34 in all its glory.
Now he agrees to at least nerf the FoV on the sights and slightly lengthen its reload compared to war thunder so it’s more historically accurate for the time, and more balanced when compared to the other tanks in the Moscow campaign.
And sure, I can get a bit toxic when people are just so dense that they can’t see the negative aspects of their ideas, but that applies to everyone.
And @73507743 is also right about the lack of communication of the devs leading to long, unneeded discussions here because we have no clue what they are planning on doing.
This is the only topic where devs answered to us. They made a new map which was terrible and a lot of players were complaining about how small the maps are.
Devs disagreed with my complain so me and some other players had to argue with them for a whole day until they finally considered our request
The devs have their own view on how they want the game to look like and its very hard to dissuade them from that. That is the case for all games, even for the one that I made. I made an simulator-style racing game while people mostly want an arcadelike experience. I am not changing my mind on Sim vs Arc because I want it to be sim. The devs here want CQC. They will most likely keep doing CQC maps as that’s where the action is the most intense.
And we have no idea what’s their point of view because they didn’t tell us
I still hope for bigger maps on Moscow because there are several maps that are not CQC mostly on Normandy
The reason why I hope is because these 2 comments give me hope:
