Japan lacks any semi automatic snipers in their tech tree. I propose adding a scoped variant of the Type Ko rifle to fill this gap.
This rifle should be placed in BR3 in the tech tree due to the 10rnd capacity it has. This variant of the type Ko should be the longer variant so that the premium version of the type Ko remains unique.
This rifle should be implemented in the tech tree because Japan is lacking any sniper weapons at all for mid and high BR

The Lee Enfield is a bolt action and this is a semi auto so it would naturally have lower damage

As a Japanese player, I’m definitely against it.
It’s about filling holes in the tech tree. Every other nation has scoped weapons for medium and high BRs
And it only hurts them.
Not all holes need to be filled. Only those that will strengthen the faction. Unless, of course, you wish them well and don’t want to harm them. Adding sniper rifles is sabotage. Especially when the developers add one weapon per update…
Believe me, there are many much more useful weapons that Japan needs to add.
I think a scoped Type Hei Auto, as from my other suggestion, would be quite deadly
This will result in your team having 3 “useful” snipers on the edge of the map instead of 9 autohei fighters on the point…
Japan already has bolt action snipers, which favor sitting on the edge more than automatic versions. If Japanese players wanted to be useless snipers, this would already happen, but because this doesn’t occur, I can safely assume Japanese players are smart enough to not engage in that kind of playstyle
This happens constantly in 1-3 BR. Only in 5 BR are there few snipers, precisely due to the lack of more advanced sniper rifles.
As I said above, in the rare major updates, I’d rather get any useful weapon than those damned sniper rifles.
People are snipping anyway, regardless of the fact that there is no BR3-BR5 sniper rifle for japan.
Now what do you prefer ? 3 Players with Type 38 rifle in the back of the map ? Or maybe 3 players with Scoped Type Hei Auto that can do something in cqc as well ?

Yes. Because they are unlikely to appear above 3 BR.
If players wish to use sniper rifles by choosing the Japanese faction at battle rating 3, they have the right to use semi-automatic rifles with scopes. Who are you to deny them this option?

We could have a captured M1 Garand with an Arisaka scope mounted on considering the 4th Marine Division reported on Iwo Jima that they encountered Japanese snipers disguised as American GIs with M1 Helmets and jerry-rigged Garands

Well According to Ian from forgotten weapons its Kogaku scopes 4X and 2.5X will fit since they are adjustable:
But it really depends on which Ko rifle since all of them are unique but the adjustable Kogaku is probably the best option. But Ian also speculated since he also mentioned it wont fit a standard scope but there where like 6 companies producing the scopes but it make sense that Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha produced the scope for the KO rifle of the Kokura arsenal.
So as you can see its not very clear what type of scope was used but most likely its Kogaku scope but is it the adjustable or its some special one its not very clear. Not to mention all Ko rifles are unique and there is a difference between each unique rifle.
Since rifle 5 and 8 have different scopes probably.
So on rifle 5 probably Kogaku scope will fit but for sure same scope wont fit on rifle 8. But you will have to check all the rifles to be sure since each one is unique.
