Absolutely they should do this, another option is to also use any of the type hei rifles (long, late, early, short, 10rd, 5rd etc.) as scoped options too, or even the Otsu as they all have scope mounts.
I think a scoped Ko rifle would be the best because its otherwise not available in the tech tree. Of course its still distinct from the engineer premium Ko rifle because of the barrel length
Definitely, Ko is the best and most reasonable place to start. It’d be nice to use my snipers outside of BR1. On a note I wish Japanese sniper players were more aggressive in general, considering they still have very usable iron sights lol.
a bolt action only goes so far
According to Forgotten Weapons, the Type 97 telescopic sight is not compatible with the Type Ko rifle. The Type Ko, Type Otsu, and Type Hei rifles already featured scope mounts as early as 1933, whereas the Type 97 telescopic sight did not appear until 1937. By the time the self-loading rifles were undergoing trials, the Type 5 4x telescopic sight was already available.
Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha produced adjustable telescopic sights that can be used on multiple rifles they can fit Type 99 and Type 96 and probably various other rifles. They are not the standard one since they have different locking mechanism. However there is more manufacturers like:
Enomoto Kogaku Seiki Seisakusho,Tokyo Dai-ichi Rikugun Zoheisho,Tokyo Kogata Kikai KK,Tomioka Kogaku Kikai Seisakusho KK ,Enomoto Kogaku Seiki Seisakusho,Nihon Kogaku Kogyo KK,Tokyo Dai-ichi Rikugun Zoheisho,Tokyo Moriko, Tokyo Dai-ichi Rikugun Zoheisho , Fuji Shashin Kogaku Kiki KK and more however the Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha can fit multiple guns. Type 97 is produced by :
However there was more manufacturers that looked similar but featured different locking mechanism so will be hard to determent which one was the right one.
Well he was speaking about Ko rifle number 8 however number 1,5 and 10 probably had scopes produced by different manufacturer then number 8. But you can start your research by checking the manufacturers :
As you can guess its a very big topic researching them all then you must research all the examples of Ko rifles.
I conducted my own investigation a long time ago; you guys just don’t want to listen. It seems I’ll have to repeat myself. The Type 5 optical sight is compatible with the Type Ko, Type Otsu, and Type Hei rifles. The mounting system for the Type 5 scope on the experimental Arisaka Type 38 sniper rifles (of which about 700 were made) is exactly the same as the ones on the Type Ko and Type Otsu.

And which company produced Type 5 optical sight ?
As far as I can tell, Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha has always been responsible for the development of optical sights, from copying German designs in 1923 to refining the Type 97 scope.
Well is Type 5 scope a Kogaku scope ? So as you can see people are listening to you no one is telling you that you are wrong. Simply Ian said that the standard scope wont fit. Most likely the scopes are non standard Kogaku scopes. The Type 5 scope is non standard Kogaku scope. Most likely.
Okay. It’s just that the phrasing is a bit strange.
Well its strange since I cant guarantee that all scopes for Ko rifles are Kogaku scopes without markings and serial numbers.
Why? I only care if it was actually used in combat or not and considering this actually happened on Iwo Jima, I don’t really care.
I dislike captured guns because it makes the battlefield confusing if that M1 garand you hear could either be a friendly or enemy soldier
This is a PVP video game so I appreciate more clarity, not less clarity
No that is very lame. I understand them doing this for AT on BRIV for Japan, but god it is lame to see the same weapons over and over again for every faction. Please don’t encourage them to keep doing that.
I typically don’t but when I read about real instances of this happening, I am not against it. I’m more focused on that compared to using some prototype
I don’t understand

If you can’t figure out where the enemy is despite them having a smaller character model and Asiatic features on a map whose sightlines are less than 100m most of the time, that’s not really my problem
I’m speaking strictly about audio. If I’m inside of a building or cave and hear M1 garand gunfire nearby without seeing who is firing it, then how would I know if its a friendly or not?
I typically don’t need a visual cue to figure out where the enemy is most of the time. The pathing and layout of the Pacific’s map are incredibly linear
