Serious Question: How often do you actually see mines being utilized in your games?

Please just answer these questions on your reply so the topic doesn’t get blown way off track:

  • How often do you see AP mines utilized on offense?
  • How often do you see AT mines utilized on offense?
  • How often do you see TNT mines utilized on offense?
    . . . . . .
  • How often do you see AP mines utilized on defense?
  • How often do you see AT mines utilized on defense?
  • How often do you see TNT mines utilized on defense?

Please list you answers in that order. I’m trying to collect the answers from a variety of players to either confirm or deny a theory.

Why ask this question? Well, I can pretty much see why, the OP was talking about the same thing earlier in another thread.
He has a theory that mines are not used at all in this game and he wants to prove it. And somehow, he wants to talk about the demand to buff engineers in connection with it.

Still, this will be difficult to gather accurate data.
Of course, it is impossible for a player to know how many mines his teammates or opponents have placed during a game. We don’t check every killlog, and I think we can only get a subjective opinion.
In the first place, how broadly is the data taken, the last 10 games, or whether there is a campaign or not?
Player level and asset status also come into play. Because most people will buy guns before mines.
If you want to make the data at least a little more meaningful, you should change the question to.

・How many times have you used mines in your last 10 games?
・Which campaign did you use?
・How many level and silver order tickets do you have in each campaign?
・How many mines do you own and equip?
・How do you use them (defensively/offensively)?

I have asked for that in the past, and I’m pretty sure you pulled the same shit you are now. Just answer the questions and move on.

I’m not asking for how often players use them PERSONALLY, but rather how often they are seeing them pop up in game. Decent players will often make use of them, but I’m looking for the broader look at how often they are seeing OTHERS use them.

I’ve said my two cents about why I’m looking for the info. Can we please just keep it on track now?

  1. Rarely and only in small numbers. Basically only to mine entrances to the objective, but barbed wire is more popular for that purpose.

  2. I think hardly anyone uses them. I think I only ever ran on a mine once or twice and I don’t remember, if those mines were used offensively or defensively, but probably the latter.

  3. I remember them being used quite a lot to blow up tanks, when Stalingrad was just released and I played that campaign for a couple of matches. I haven’t seen them used at all since then.

  4. Moderately. They’re not used in many matches, but when they’re used, they tend to be used quite a bit. I see them most often used by stacks of players. One player can take his time placing the mines, while the others guard the objective.

  5. See 2.

  6. Can’t remember a single instance, except when used as an ersatz grenade in Stalingrad.

Yep, only AP mines are really worth it, and even then they tend to be used in significant quantities only by teams, that are already winning. As much as I hate mines, I gotta admit, that they rarely decide over the outcome of a battle.

I wrote in an earlier post. Can a player know all the mines used in the game? Usually not. If you are lucky enough to see a kill log or an explosion, you might be able to find out, but most people will end a game without knowing about most of the mines that they have not planted/stepped.
If a landmine is actually used in a match, but the respondent just can’t find it, does that answer mean that the landmine is not used in your mind? This is complete nonsense.
This survey is incomplete and meaningless and will only serve to reinforce your subjectivity and desires.
It is a crock of shit.

  • I rarely remember to use them. Will drop to protect my rally if someone has been actively seeking it. (seen some do the same)

  • I don’t remember to. grenades and AT weapons are my go to. Don’t see them either (actually sometimes I mine the spawn road with my AT paras. I spend alot of time behind enemy lines, even without paras)

  • once or twice

  • AP mines on defense all the time. I use them on the point if I get time or Im having a troll game

  • AT mines a decent amount. I use alot on defense (one AP with one AT make big boom)

  • TNT I use all the time for tanks, only seen it once as a booby trap for infantry. (Sorry i should state only in Stalingrad. TNT I have for KV1)

I sometimes use AP mines to secure my backs when I’m camping with MG. Not always though since it requires some kind of chokepoint to be effective and I don’t have time to look for a spot for a mine.

I never use AT mines. Most tanks camp on their spawn and if they get close I just faust them. A waste of time and effort imo.

I don’t use tnt. It’s just a worse explosion pack so why bother.

I used to see quite a lot of AP mines but probably due to the bug I don’t see them used any more.

I saw AT mines used maybe twice.

Last time I saw a tnt was when stalingrad was a new campaign. Nothing ever since.

It really depends on which type of players I encounter. And it really doesn’t matter if it’s defense/offense. Week back I encountered guy who was spamming AP mines completely randomly at open in Moscow, it was super annoying.

Literally yesterday I was destroyed by it and I was defending. But overall I don’t see AT mines that often. They really aren’t better than other AT options. So there’s not big difference between defense/offense.

I never noticed someone did use them during battle. But I am consistently using them in Stalingrad (since you get so many of them for free there) to destroy KVs, it’s very effective. You just need place it in front of turret, guaranteed kill.
I really don’t care if it’s defense/offense. I am doing it there all the time.

They do deserve rework. They could be so much fun if they were actually effective.

But mostly I do completely nothing with them or at the best just fire up vehicle.

I use TNT on tanks especially with the way they recently messed up with explosive packs lately where I just put the TNT on the wheels then blow it up hopefully not getting shot in the process.

you can see mines in a considerable number of games, I have mines equipped on several of my soldiers and the truth is that I forget to use them in the heat of battle
