The AVT is BR5 and the SVT is BR4. There SHOULD be a power increase going from BR4 → BR5
The power increase is going from semi to full auto. Although I do agree that the recoil should be on the same level as semi autos, which could have theirs adjusted as well in my opinion.
If you make the recoil 4x worse then full auto is not as powerful as you think
First you make the guns feel right, then you determine their BRs.
If if was up to me I’d have AVT in BR4 but heavily nerfed so that the player would choose between SVT and AVT
SFRs shouldn’t be the pinnacle of WW2 technology in my book.
To be fair, the FG42 was literally one of THE most technologically advanced rifles ever designed and produced in WW2
Agreed, but I don’t think FG-42 MUST be equal to AVT-40 (it had 10 rounds by default btw), which MUST be equal to cancelled Autohei, which MUST be equal to cancelled T20.
well we’d thin it’s quite a lot… when it’s been stated people (or person)… want them to become “unusable” on full auto.
I know right what game is this thread even talking about, because this is the least of the problems, Im getting no scoped from submachine guns through 5 rows of separate vegetation , and these clowns are crying about SF guns WTF?. my maxed out br 5 machine gun squad needs to crawl everywhere so it doesn’t get wiped out by some random running bot with a pistol ffs
The recoil of automatic rifles firing full rifle rounds definitely needs to be increased across the board. Specifically with the Soviets, the AVS-36 and AVT-40s were so uncontrollable that those programs were killed and lead to development of the PPSh-41 as the primary automatic weapon that was to be mass produced. Existing AVS-36 and AVT-40s were still issued, but doctrine said to use them in Semi-Auto only because of the ineffective nature and wasting of ammunition in full auto mode.
This should correctly drop these weapons in BR to IV…perhaps even III.
Other factions should follow suit as well, especially for things like the T-20 (which shouldnt even be in the TT anyway…but thats a different thread…)
And this is a video game… meant to be enjoyable.
Perhaps it isn’t to you when you get killed by them however that’s apart of the game you get killed anyway… should i be complaining when my squad gets mowed down by a 100 rd mg?
This would suit you and all others who are in support of this just well considering that’s probably the only thing you play… however that’s an assumption.
And if such is true one begins to wonder why you have opinions on the matter in the first place.
Because why should it? Nerf it so much and make it so bad it’s considered reasonable to put select fire in br3 all because you dislike them… congratulations you have just messed up the flow greatly.
Why do you get your semi autos in 3… they should have such high recoil they are deemed useless…
The real solution from the beginning should have been SFR being more limited. They are on their own not OP compared to assault rifles, in a 1 to 1 comparison they seem very balanced to me.
SFR down in one shot, but have smaller mags
Assault rifles have bigger mags and are easier to use in full auto.
Personally I think both weapon types have more or less equal effective range, its just their gameplay is different.
The ONLY thing that makes them OP is specifically that they are NOT worse than Assault rifles, which they absolutely should be considering they are not limited like assaulters.
There are only 3 options to fix SFR:
- Nerf SFR
- or Buff Assault rifles
- or limit SFR
Every other change is just arbitrary, quality of life “nerfs” will only take away the fun of a gun - not its effectiveness. Talking about firemode and total ammo for example.
I tend to look at things more from an immersion/historical point of view
I feel select-fire rifles are complicated because of where to even put them. There are reasons for and against giving them to Riflemen, Assaulters, MG, or even a new class
While most care about balance I just care about the best way to implement them! ![]()
While I completely agree with the take that SFRs should have always been a rare sight and not OP at all,
Still the last thing I want to see from these changes is T20 and Autohei spam now in BR 2-3-4.
If SF rifles end up in BR3 I’m not leaving BR1 anymore.
a video game that is supposed to be about WWII. if you want a game base solely on gameplay. stick to Fortnite.
The truth is, the BR system 100% shits on historic accuracy. I would prefer to abolish BR all together. but since I have to “just accept the BR system is here to stay”, I say make weapons historically accurate and move into the appropriate BRs.
Gaijin made the AVS36 a laser because they needed something that fits into a particular category instead of making the AVS36 historically accurate and THEN place it in a BR.
Make all the assumptions you want about me, but my narrative of fighting for historic accuracy hasn’t changed since I started playing this in 2020.
exactly. just be correct about it.
Inaccurate spam. the current iteration of these weapons fire a stream of bullets similar to a laser beam, which is vastly historically inaccurate.
People may score a random hit every now and then with full auto, but they will find automatic battle rifles are way more effective on semi auto as per real life. that’s why assault rifles were developed in the first place. more powerful than a SMG, more accurate than automatic battle rifles.
if recoil was represented correctly for these battle rifles, there is no way they would be BR V.
well to be honest, game/players shit on historical accuracy long before BR system. every squad was equipped with strongest weapons, regardless how much that weapon was actually used in ww2. unless devs locked squads to use historically accurate weapons for that time/campaign you would never get historically accurate weapons. not to mention it would be absolutely terrible for balance. just imagine germans with kar98k and mg34 vs soviet with pps41 and svt40 on moscow.
IMO there should be a battles system like War Thunder’s arcade/realistic/scenarios(simulator).
I don’t think anyone is calling for 100% historical accuracy as in Pz 38t vs KV-1.
But at least only using stuff that was used in WW2 would be a great start.
