I want to experiment with some compromise solutions. For example, adding the two-plate accessory to the German helmet so that a hit from a full-power rifle round has a chance of not being an instant kill — leaving the player with a sliver of health and avoiding a headshot kill.
Or maybe, similar to the Super M26, the plate armor mechanic could be adjusted to allow damage reduction. After taking several hits from full-power rounds, the armor could become ineffective, but the movement speed penalty would still remain.
I have some experience and do not see spam… however yes i don’t play crossplay on so i digress there… take it out of moscow maybe? it was meant for close buildings no?
If you start shooting at the same time, a soldier with a breastplate will win. If you start shooting at the same time, a soldier with a lazergun will win.
Soviet combat engineers were truly unique. On one hand, they were indeed a fully formed and organized unit, and such gear was quite common for a combat engineer battalion. Moreover, during the Berlin campaign, this type of equipment should have been widely deployed. So in terms of historical authenticity, adding it as cosmetic gear is completely justified.
Next, we should consider whether Japan and Germany had some special units — or at least battalion-level equipment — with distinctive armor or gear. Let’s not just reuse things like the World War I-era “lobster armor” from Normandy as a template. Even if something like that were to be implemented, it could only be introduced as limited event items — maybe gifted to players in small quantities, like 10 or 20 pieces at most.
Stop arguing with them, they think germany should have won ww2 and that german weapons are the best and that soviets should have a potato and 1 rifle for 5 men
I can see it clearly. There’s a stark difference between fair debate and trying to completely shut someone down. The targeting of the Soviet faction is just so obvious. As the saying goes:
“If we don’t occupy the battlefield of public opinion, the enemy will.”
Now I also want to stand up and defend it — even if it’s just with words, I want people to know that someone is making sure that the sV T38 and plate armor can at least exist normally for now.
So - as the biggest Soviet Body armor critic in this forum I want to say, that historically speaking it would be sad for Soviets to lose body armor, because it fits the faction… however it still is undeniably OP and messes with balance.
I will celebrate when it finally gets removed from the game, but I do believe it is possible to have Soviets keep their armor with proper balancing - but I dont know if its worth the effort.
A ton of ways to do so from adding equivalents for other factions to restricting it by class to changing it to only affect torso, to return to alpha model where body armor was a separate slot to restricting movement etc
