Remove the damage reduction from Soviet body armor before Manchuria drops

With Manchuria likely in the workings and the Soviet body armor being Soviet body armor being surprisingly impactful for the game and especially the Japanese rifles I think it’s time we remove this unfair advantage

  • Yes - Remove the damage reduction off the Soviet body armor
  • Yes - Remove damage reduction off bought cosmetics entirely
  • No

I also want to point out before anyone says it:

  • If body armor "doesn’t affect the gameplay’ then it shouldn’t be an issue to remove the reduction
  • Body armor on Soviet assault engineers can stay as it is because it’s a gimmick of the squad rather than bought advantage
  • Soviets are not too weak without the armor
  • It doesn’t matter that not everyone uses it. The fact that they can use it to gain an advantage is the issue
  • Giving body armor to all nations requires insane amounts of rebalancing
  • Giving body armor movement penalties could help but it requires a lot of tweaking to get right while removal is changing character in a line of code

Godspeed

It would also look stupid as hell.

It would essentially boil down to rebalancing the weapon damage to work properly against 15 effective HP the way the game is currently balanced around the vitality

The same way vitality is an essential perk to take, body armor would become an essential cosmetic - making it look silly and removing a lot of customization freedom for any player actually wanting to fight fair

I think most people would rather avoid that

I love that you included this option, because yes, helmet modifiers are equally dumb (just not as noticeable), so good on you for doing so!

I too would rather not have literally every battle filled with turtles fighting turtles:

A often understated point, I’m happy you mentioned it.

All in all 100% endorsed, I hope this gets implemented.

Lol, @iso_seppo123 that will never happens. In true, if you give body armor for all factions, it will be like that: 1, maximum two players in USSR command in body armor and 1-2 players in Japan command in body armor. 95% maybe even 99% of players don’t wearing body armor and for other factions it will be same situation

@ImpostorWhenSUS , lets be realistic. Developers know about body armor? Yes. They know about its reduction of damage? Also yes. Have they done anything about it? No. Conclusion: the developers have been aware of this for many years, but they haven’t done or said anything. Therefore, it is likely that they are NOT going to remove the Soviet armor bonus.

The Dispersion on the PPSh Box mag was changed. Why not this?

Even if they don’t, why make suggestions at all? Why suggest a damage reduction or changing of anything that’s in the game if they haven’t done anything yet and they won’t in the future. According to you all suggestions aimed towards stuff already in the game are just wasted time.

About PPSH (sectoral), at one time, it seems, officially answered that the developers passed. In the case of other proposals, the helpers also periodically answered that it was passed to the developers. Or that the developers know about the problem. Or that they are working on it. Here, in the case of cuirasses, complete ignore. Total silence. For many years. And this gives rise to some thoughts.

I say remove the damage reduction, except for the assault engineer event squad since that sort of fits the actual theme of the squad.

It’s very simple.

1 faction with “secret” (you must datamine to see the bonus, it isn’t shown in game) advantage while the others don’t,

Is bias.

What honest players demand, is all factions to be balanced as it should be. No bias.

Of course, mains (boos) of said faction will oppose it… As they’re not interested in balanced gameplay.

I’d bet a very high amount you’d be outraged if the armours were axis and not Soviet…

But sure.

Some players need crutches to walk.

take your pills bro, i don’t even use armours on my soviet squads, i prefer form over function

But sure.

Some players see the bias conspiracies where there aren’t any.

Add movement penalty and perhaps restrict backpack slot if anything… simply removing something a lot of people and even everyone apparently has is not a good solution imo.

I haven’t found much problem in just ignoring the issue

“If you ignore all of your problems eventually they will go away”

Of course, taking a screenshot of a single squad is such a perfect proof.

Again, what a surprise a russian Soviet main would oppose balance.

Truly shocking and unheard of…

Not “perhaps”, if you want gear wit function then it should be gear you have to equip, and occupy a slot.

Cosmetics should have no impact on gameplay.

Just remove body armor until significant rework, it’s not a big deal, atleast germany players will stop whining until eventually finding something else to whine about
