You should, the greatcoats are such a vibe for the soviets, I use it often tbh.
Oh sweet, glad to hear your fine with the damage reduction being removed then right? Since it doesnt help nor hinder you like all the other cosmetics in game right?
Oh so instead of increasing the damage to 16.8 as it would unfairly affect the non-armor users, we could remove the armor damage reduction so that only armor users get nerfed and the fight becomes fair for all parties involved
What a great idea, why didn’t I think of it before?
literally me. you just like to hype this topic up, don’t you?
I believe an explanation is in order:
This is (imo) simply because people who play the soviets do not want body armor to be removed, simpliciter. This does not factor into account weapons or player base considerations. Those who use body-armour know its an advantage, but a 0.7 second advantage is not game breaking. It only matters at the very pinnacle of enlisted, where the reaction time of strong players decide matches.
In public matches, this is not so much an issue, just like how some people run small squads and still maintain some success.
We still see that clan wars at BR 5 is mainly dominated by the faction which has meta battle rifle- the battle rifle which is easiest to use and powerful- mainly the t20 and the type hei auto. This is likely due to density of ROF, as well as ease of use (the type hei auto is fukking braindead easy to use lol, I got 324 kills with it in one match), and accuracy. The AVT 40 is controllable, but mainly due to its low rof, which is not meta (more ppl should try it). The fg 42 shoots too fast, and has a bigger hip-fire cone.
So, we have soviet players who don’t want removal of body armour. They don’t care that they have strong weapon.
We have occasional players who play the soviets. They are not concerned about body armour. They probably don’t play clan wars (i’m guessing). They may oppose the removal of body armour for nostalgia.
Then there are the players who consistently face the soviets, and notice and feel this. I feel it too, when I am playing germans against soviet body armour.
But i;m not very concerned personally. The germans aren;t meta for competitive play anyways, unless it’s their tanks.
If I wanted to win against the soviets, I would just accept the reality of my setup, try my hardest with 9 man fg 42 squads. Sometimes have a little fun with mg and stg, which are not meta. This is a game after all.
So, nerf, or not, I don’t really care. Though, the body armour is a unique mechanic. In one respect, the axis player can feel proud of himself for beating an opponent with stronger infantry.
Honestly the 3 arguments I’ve seen repeated about the body armor are:
- It doesn’t matter
- It’s not used by everyone
- It was like this irl
Which are never satisfactory because
- I have accumulated extensive amount of information that it in fact matters
- Is the reason why I want body armor itself nerfed rather than entirely of the Soviet armory, because removal of body armor affects only people abusing it rather than doing collateral damage on people who don’t use it
- Is not really an excuse for broken equipment in a video game
Truly every other reply is just some variation of those 3 arguments, whether its ignorance, being mad at crutches being taken away, thinking ‘just be better’ is somehow a good feedback, inability to understand that even low chance of a unfavorable occurance is bad or forgetting that Enlisted has arcadey gameplay
Makes you really understand how an average Enlisted player is just awful
In fact, Soviet players all hoped to quickly get rid of the “bulletproof vest” as it was a heavy historical burden. If this could be removed, the Soviet weapons would have the same attack power as those of other factions.
The Soviet Union suffered a significant reduction in its offensive power due to the use of the bulletproof vest as a weapon.
Ive seen you say that a couple of times. (Are you saying USSR weapons got lower attack power in general because of armor?)
Id like to know how you figure that. You would have to be “Very” selective in your TT weapon choices to back that up.
Considering the vast majority of weapons share the same class damage values, and remembering that USSR still maintains some of the highest damage values in a few areas
- Fedorov AR
- 5 shot semi auto Fedorov (anything named fedorov really)
- until recent buff, the AVT always hit harder than FG 42. Now equal
- AVS Still does hit harder
Germany generally has higher damage SMGs (at a lower RoF) , but in Turn USA has higher than even them.
It was always odd to me 1 nation having the highest effective health, paired with some of the highest damage values
First of all, I’m talking about SMG.
The German automatic rifle 422 has an enhanced attack power of 15+ and can now kill the bulletproof vest in a single attack. SMG
In Germany, 6.8 represents the standard itself.
The majority of SMG’s attack power is based on the 6.8 attack value. Two attacks resulted in the death of the victim.
Germany vs. United States
Because of Thomson, Germany’s score is 6.8.
All of them died after being attacked twice. United States vs. Japan
Previously, the 100-type SMG in Japan had a rate of fire of 7.2. Now it has been weakened. However, the caliber of the southern submachine gun has been increased to 6.8.
All of them died after being attacked twice. Germany vs. Soviet Union
Because the Soviet Union had bulletproof vests and extremely low levels of aggression.
Both sides suffered three attacks that resulted in fatalities.
The killing times for both sides were longer than those of other factions.
It was more forgiving and enjoyable.
Germany vs. Soviet Union is roughly equivalent to Japan vs. Soviet Union.
Overall, it is balanced. Of course, the developers are also adjusting whether to remove the bulletproof vest. Some parts of the Japanese level 3 also need to be strengthened.
In the level 3 section, the firing rate of the SMG from Germany is also within a comfortable range.
As is well known, a firing rate that is too fast can lead to attacking corpses, commonly known as “swallowing bullets”.
In the level 5 section, the firing rates of the German SMG, the Konders machine gun, and the Sommer SMG are completely on par with the PPSH.
The origin of the bulletproof vest lies in avoiding homogeneity, adding fun while balancing the game.
As i said, theres a fair bit of specific picking and choosing in that interpretation, including personal preference (ie whats a comfortable fire rate…differs from player to player), comparing event weapons to TT (in which case you forgot 100 drum thompson)
And only focusing on one weapon class (smg) when body armor affects more than one.
As a “WHOLE” USSRs attack power is not overall “lower”. Its high in as many places as it is low…if not more
So I have been constantly calling for the immediate removal of the bulletproof vest and increasing the attack power of the PPSH to the standard value of 6.8 would be sufficient.
Don’t think there are any advantages to wearing a bulletproof vest…
Specifically anything around the 14.4 damage range become 2 shots at all ranges. (Including point blank), obviously not a smg value.
Beyond that it affects "damage over range on everything…some more than others. But 14.4 is a standout value (this is what fg42 had for years before buff).
So this is the goal of the developers: to increase the趣味性 (fun) in order to avoid monotony and homogeneity.
This is high and that is low. In the end, +±- and the final difference is not too significant. It was always just a mess anyway.
Each version is more powerful than the previous one. It enables players to switch sides and enjoy the game in a more comprehensive way.
Seems like a strange claim to make, that the Soviet weaponry is nerfed on purpose due to Soviets having body armour. I don’t think dDarkflow will buff the Soviet weapons even if body armour is removed.
Tbf, that was lost in a sea of madness up there, but the point stands, the easy solution is just remove the reduction and let everyone keep the cosmetics.
We should be able to sell cosmetics for appearance orders anyway, but Id include that in a different suggestion. So thats what I would suggest/offer as compensation for all the people who spent years abusing it.
German SMGs have higher damage points to accommodate Soviet higher RoF
It’s even seen with Beretta 1918 that can have its even higher RoF because of the top load mag and 25 rounds
If all Soviet SMGs had 6.8 damage after body armor removal they would still be just better
As it stands now it’s rather obvious that Soviet weapons are powerful (especially if you take a look at BR5 and their best SF, AR and MG at the tier) and it doesn’t really look as if the weapons were nerfed to accommodate for the body armor reduction. Armor reduction could be removed this minute and Soviets would still remain one of the strongest BR2, BR3 and BR5 factions
If there’s one perk that is so good its automatically chosen over everything else then that is a pretty clear sign the balancing is bad
yeah thats true, but that would require the devs to be proactive in their attempts to balance the game, and going by their past behaviour, I think that worries me even more.
They just aint making hasty decissions.
They collected years of data to come to conclusion a smg with ~1000 rof and 0.21 dispersion is indeed broken and fixed it.
After several years of collecting data.
This is a really good idea!
