@Veekay45 I understand you want to enjoy a PPD in moscow but I think putting drum mag SMGs in BR3 is going to open the gates for other factions asking for something similar and generally creating more powercreep in the whole game. You’ll get Americans asking for a drum mag thompson in BR3 and they’ll point to this

Unless I’m mistaken and marrying the PPD-34/38 into the context of Moscow battles, where it historically was used isn’t what you’re specifically wanting, I doubt that would happen unless we got some sort of pseudo-campaign limited event. I can see campaigns returning as an optional mode if Enlisted was able to increase it’s population through meaningful change, and intelligent marketing.

I voted no because the most important aspect of a submachine gun in Enlisted is fire rate followed by magazine capacity.
You would need really big nerfs to make the PPD-34/38 BR3 worthy. Im not saying it wouldnt be possible but it would be easier and less controversial to give Soviets a new BR3 weapon with large magazine and mid-low fire rate.

If something needs to be heavily nerfed to the point it becomes slop just to fit that BR it just says a lot about how powerful the gun is
I’ve personally never liked that idea, especially here in this case where USSR has 2 excellent BR 3 smgs

My guy if you gotta break the entire skeleton of the gun to fit in a box… then it doesn’t belong in that box
in this case completely taking a perfectly fine BRIV smg basically destroying the gun so it can fit in brIII it shouldn’t be in that BR period

No. SMG powercreep should be reduced, not increased. I get what you’re saying but this just does not seem worth it, and it would be ideal to reduce powercreep before adding shiny new things, IMO.

I see where this concern is coming from and indeed when I suggest a drum mag BR3 PPD I should make it clear that I don’t support mirror balance and such SMGs for other factions just because.
Well here again I’m kind of coming from the opposite direction – giving life to PPD 34/38 instead of inventing a new prototype to fill a role.
But I see your point.
To be honest I feel dirty even unlocking the mysterious one-off “Uragan”, let alone buying and using it.

Absolutely yes, and, honestly, it does not even need to be nerfed that much (imo).
The fact that it had artificially decreased damage (even for Soviet smgs) until recently is laughable, and it still does not 2-shot vitality. Of course, devs might go against it since the just recently “made it BR 4 worthy” but that does not mean it does not belong on 3. It’s actually funny how people like to speculate about it’s OPness while I have not even seen a single PPD-40/34-38 in battle…ever.
Realistically, removing the body armour bonus or making it sharpnel-only would remove this problem altogether, the PPD would literally just be worse that the MP-40 or Beretta in everything but magazine size (and technically the amount of down-able bots would still be comparable).

I think BR6 will be better.
Worse? Twice as much ammo, 50 more bullet velocity, less recoil, more RPM and the same amount of dispersion as the MP40, less than the Beretta. At least check the stats before making statements. It’s better in all but damage, far better in ammo capacity and you say it’s worse?

There’s a difference between selecting a prototype that would have made sense in that location (inventing is not what anyone here should want), and changing the PPD-34/38 so much that it is no longer a PPD-34/38, except by name and model.
It’s like saying we will make a Sten Mk.V at BR 5 because it was available at the end of the war, but we’ll buff the RoF to 1000 RPM and the damage to 12.0. It’s “Balanced”, but the identity of the weapon has packed it’s bags to a Sandals resort.
just the drum mag would put it at rank 4 in my book if you dropped it to a 20-30 round stick and lowered the RPM maybe.

But dunno how that justifies lowering to 4-3.
If only, the guns we’re balanced that way from the get go.
GE gets low rof, better dispersion & range capabilities and USSR gets the absolute roombroom.
There probably wouldnt have been any issues and PPsh41 & MP40 could have been rivals with each other.
But we know how that went.
Outside of insane 0.3? more dmg mp40 had at 100m it was inferior in everything.
