When I read this, I couldn’t help but wonder if they even understand what good balance means, because from what I can see from these changes, they fail to understand the core issue
the core issue is that they cannot balance players in games, that is because there is a massive balance issue in players in matches, so most matches always have a team with a player advantage, and that is tied into the other issue they refuse to face head on
and that is the quit culture
this failure all stems from a lack of understanding the issues and facing them head on
and this is the result, making stupid changes to stupid things to make the game worse and covering it with a false story that it’s for good balance
war is not about balance, read that again
war is about fighting to win with any advantage you can find
making games that change history to give participation medals to players is insulting to the playerbase that earned their way and now will be limited to these stupid tiers and br limitations
so If I’m a game designer now, listen carefully, good balance happens when you don’t shrink down the players who have certain weapon tiers that you made something to strive for and limit them to only now playing with those toys among themselves, that is ridiculous, what battlefield in the world says you can’t bring a rifle to a fight because the enemy has assault rifles?
Your problem as devs is that you don’t know to balance players into matches according to what they have already, so you create this fake world that is trash
if you wanted to balance the game, you would have had to improve the matchmaking a different way, not this way…
and you would have to find balance in matches dynamically as the match is prepared and depending on what players are on each side and adapt for when players leave, as that is a massive issue, and will remain an issue even after the update
because players are still going to leave matches when they see their team sucks, that is the most common reason, the br won’t change that
