New Map Set: Mediterranean

Hi all!

This is Part 3 of my proposal to add maps that would seamlessly and naturally fit all BRs.

Part 1: New Map Set: Galicia (1941 low BR, 1944 high BR)
Part 2: New Map Set: Baltics (1941 low BR, 1944 high BR)

PROPOSED NEW THEATER: THE MEDITERRANEAN

Disclaimer:

  • This theater of operations would benefit from automatically switching at least all American forces to British uniforms and voicelines for Crete 1941 (because USA wasn’t involved in Europe yet), and preferably vehicles/weapons should turn British as well, but I am aware this will never happen.
  • The Mediterranean would require strict BR brackets for each map (or at least a BR+Map Ban System), but I understand that Gaijin wouldn’t be able to resist making it BR 1-5 as all new maps are and putting jets over Crete 1941.
  • Obviously all tanks/planes/APCs/motorcycles here would need to be sandy-colored by default, with no snowy winter camos allowed, and Basic paintjobs for each map by default and for free would work perfectly here, but we all know Darkflow couldn’t care less.
  • After ~6 years in Enlisted, I am pretty sure that nothing of this will be done, and probably some obscure Chinese fake prototype tank will be worked on instead, but a man can dream.
So I guess this is all for a potential future Enlisted develor who gives a rat’s ass about WW2.

Introduction:
Creating a single unified asset set (Mediterranean architecture, olive groves, and coastal defenses) would efficiently unlock multiple iconic maps across different BRs. This modular approach would allow developers to build both the early/mid-war island invasions (Crete, Sicily) and the brutal late-war Italian campaign (Anzio, Gustav Line).

MAP 1. BATTLE OF CRETE, May 1941 (BR 1-2)

  • Battles: Operation Mercury (largest Axis airborne invasion, heavy Commonwealth defensive actions).

  • Equipment:

    • Allies: Enfield No.4, Bren mk I, Matilda II, A13 Mk II, Boys AT Rifle.
    • Axis: Kar98k, MP 40, Pz.II C, Pz.III E, Ju 52.
  • Visuals:

    • Dry Mediterranean hills, white-washed Greek stone villages with flat roofs, coastal airfields, olive groves.
    • British coastal artillery positions, crashed German gliders, stone walls used as cover.
  • Map Feature:

  • All American forces automatically reset to British uniforms and voiceover (there were no American forces in Europe in 1941).

MAP 2. SICILY, July – August 1943 (BR 1-3)

  • Battles: Operation Husky (Allied amphibious landings and the breakthrough at Gela (first major clash with Italian and German armor).

  • Equipment:

    • Allies: M1 Garand, Thompson M1A1, M3 Stuart, M4A1 Sherman, M1 Bazooka.
    • Axis: Carcano M91, Beretta M38, Pz.III J, Pak 38.
  • Visuals:

    • Sandy beachheads with anti-tank obstacles, terraced vineyards, dense hillside Sicilian towns with narrow streets.
    • Destroyed Italian coastal bunkers, burning trucks on winding mountain dirt roads, historic stone villas.

    • Axis: StG 44, MG 42, Panther G, Tiger I, Panzerschreck.

    • Axis: FG 42, MG 42, Jagdpanzer IV, StuG III G, Panzerfaust.

MAP 5. PROVENCE, August – September 1944 (BR 3-5)

  • Battles: Operation Dragoon. Allied landings in Southern France (rapid advance and mechanized clashes in the Rhone Valley).

    • Axis: FG 42, MG 42, Jagdpanzer IV, StuG III G, Panzerfaust…
  • Visuals:

    • Scenic French coast, pine forests, purple lavender fields, coastal naval artillery batteries.

Another fantasy describing your desire of historically accurate battles which is long gone… and where is the poll?

Unless they make Britain an independent faction we’re not getting Crete or any other early battles before American involvement

Since theres specific weapons etc id guess it would work as event, much like the previous pizza&pasta vs UK and market garden ?

id say in such event the FG should get rather notable nerf or somewhat heavily limited.

Uh… why? Or maybe don’t suggest events with unbalanced weaponry… merge happened explicitly to prevent that.

Not really, it’s just a general vibe of what was used during that battle, no make BR brackets (I’m aware everything new will always be BR1-5 though).

I regret to inform you that since there are weapons that didn’t fight in those theaters that would be present then your suggestions are invalid… just using your logic

I’m a bit worried. If they make new Western Front maps, every new building will probably just be convenience stores filled with indestructible counters and piles of cash registers, with nothing else besides cafes.

The current Normandy maps are overrun with cafes—every ground-floor building is a cafe, and every corner has one. I’m totally burnt out from seeing them everywhere.

I can’t even imagine if the Mediterranean maps end up filled with identical generic buildings like this, or if they’ll just copy over the same structures from Berlin.

The poll is under the Picture with the tractor!

I want more historical Battles as well A more Historical game mode for enlisted, and reasons for adding it! - Suggestions / Other - Enlisted — official forum

Mediterranean would match it really good!

Hi, @Veekay45 I’ll add this to my collection, special thanks from me for the presentation.
