New limited class: Saboteur

I’m sure an ethnic Russian or American would blend perfectly into the Imperial Japanese army anyway

You’re right. I think this unit should only exist in solo mode.
If it’s actually added to regular matches, we’ll see something even more annoying than guerrillas: one side not fighting frontally at all, just hiding and trolling in the back.

It’s just like League of Legends, where nobody picks a tank, everyone goes for ADC or jungler.
That’s going to cause tons of problems—unless they limit the number, like they do with tanks.

But new stuff almost always comes completely unbalanced at first.
I’m really pessimistic about this, just like when I first found out that armored car drivers were a separate class from tank crews.

a better option for this game would have been a Commando Squads instead. smaller Squads, say 4 guys,(but still a Squad u know, this game is about squads!) armed with 2 primary weapons, 1 Rifle and 1 SMG, but with big ammo puches bags and grenade bag, to indicate these guys are Elite guys.
(but not using enemy weapons like the Guerillas, that’s their thing and enough of that)
having the same extra TNT skill like guerillas and being able to move like them in enemy zone.
here with the twist ebing hidden and concealed too, but not like this idiotic sabouteur warcrime toxic dude, but by staying still few secs in bushed and woods, something like that ok?
Now thsi type of Squad had been more fittign for the Game and more fit the gameplay and style of game.

This sabouteur, a lone guy walking around freely hidden in enemy zone, using enemy weapons, concealed in their uniform, setting himself up in enemy zone… it’s gonna be toxic as hell, shit for newer people, confusing the hsit out of them, annoying as hell for any type player…
I don’t like this idea at all.
there better be restriction on have many of these guys can be oput in team at once too. how about limit of 1?

They are just trying to say that everything you have (APCs, tanks, rallies, mg nests) is going to be nuked by enemy aircraft and artillery, because they have saboteurs marking them.

“Hey, Comrade Commissar?”

“What is it, Ivan? We are about to attack the Japanese and take Manchuria!”

“Why is Pavel over there… speaking Japanese? And why does he not look Mongolian, or Chinese?”

“Must just be a coincidence. Im sure nothing will go wrong!”

In short yes, if you meant “limited in terms of obtain method”. Just now we added it to the title of the news, so everyone can see that there are at the moment no plans to add them to the TT. So less confusion about them.

@Ungorisz

I sincerely, sincerely hope this entire class is reconsidered and scrapped because trying to implement a slow paced class in a fast paced game is like trying to drive a nail in using a wrench

It’s going to look really stupid seeing a white dude from the United States trying to blend in with the Imperial Japanese army

I am very skeptical about this… regarding the identification part to be precise. How exactly will players differentiate them since they wear your team’s uniform? They won’t have the blue name or blue triangle above their heads? If that is the case it’s going be complete garbage and will break the game. It will turn the game into “look for tringles/blue names”. People will become paranoid and severely frustrated since they can’t identify soldier faction at a glance by uniform. It will also slow down reaction time greatly. if the identification is not done properly it has the potential to break the game entirely. Imagine playing the game normally and some dude dressed up as one of yours walking right alongside just for one second later to mow down your entire squad with you alongside it. It will cause massive frustration. The amount of complaints you’re gonna get will be endless.
Not only that, but how exactly will the AI interact with them? They will just do nothing and act like they think they’re a friendly? …just to be mowed down entirely one second later… How exactly are you gonna balance that out? If not, and the AI just sees them as enemy (even disguised), then what’s the point for them?
This has all the potential to be a disaster.
What i don’t understand and it irritates, not only me, but i’m sure most players, is why do you waste time with flashy garbage mechanics like this and not work on improving the AI. It has been and still is thee downfall of this game. Besides a plethora of other issues, they HAVE MASSIVE MASSIVE ISSUES WITH MOVEMENT. They look like they are from a cheap video game from 2003. And yet we’re living in the era of AI and strong computers. Valve had infinitely better bots that you do, back in 2005, and here you are 20 years later, coming in front of your players with this abysmal trash and asking for tripple-A game prices. That’s just wild. The shooting experience of single shot weapons is crazy low quality in this game, due to how soldiers move in this game. The constant wobbling, stutter-stepping, the insane lateral slides, the absurd amount of micro movement, the crappy animations that are not descriptive of their actions, the infinite acceleration with with they move and do their absurd amount of useless movement, the insane speed with with they change direction… all of which is game breaking. We don’t even mention their other toxic and cancerous behavior of still shooting through bushes, going prone in corners, in tall grass while continuing to shoot like it’s nothing, the afk-ing in houses, the non-human reaction time in shooting after they come around corners.
Yet, update after update, you do nothing about the things THAT ACTUALLY MATTER. All we get is flashy slop or copy-paste equipment while the major issues are ignored.
I don’t know anymore… are you guys actually blind to the fact that players are losing the faith in you being competent enough to develop this game? If this update is the same “fake appearances” and doesn’t bring improvements to the things that actually matter, like the AI, it’s probably going to be my last. There’s no point… if the shooting experience is bad, then your shooter game is bad.

oh great, more FOMO of an entire class locked behind event/paywall. Who asked for this?

There’s still one month until April Fool, DF.

This breaks Geneva Conventions, so they were spy, not soldier
We don’t need spy in a battlefield-like game

Another piece of evidence that devs don’t play games. You can always have accuracy air strikes by spamming V as pilot
The most valuable aspect of this class is removing enemy rallies

The promlem is: This playstyle doesn’t fit current enlisted at all
We don’t have friendly fire at all. Since this update, people will just start to shooting friendly soldiers that is alone, and tank will also fire random HE shell and MG toward friendly.
I guess this will very likely just be another feature that lie in devlog and never implement.

I fucking hope so. I do not want to have to shoot all of my teammates to “spy check” all the time. Terrible way to enhance the game

I am not sure about this

Just confirm for me if they can plant mine in enemy territory or not plz cause that will be very significant.

Like VERY if you know you know.

If the developers regard this update as a “great and advanced invention”, I don’t think this game has a long-term future.
If players feel a game has no future, they won’t be willing to keep spending time and money upgrading their accounts or buying new packs and squads.
It makes players think the game has already hit a dead end, with no fresh ideas to spark further interest.
As a result, the game’s activity level keeps dropping, and players may even stop opening it altogether.

Are you saying that in a game where explosives and bombs are flying everywhere and the AI occasionally goes crazy with its shots, they introduce a unit with only one life?

Great, a new world record for the attackers depleting their manpower the fastest is about to be set again.

Let me make this clear: it doesn’t add any real value. A lone man wandering around who barely contributes to the point attack? Okay, I understand the part about hunting and marking rally points, but the guerrillas already do that. The balance of this class is going to be problematic. I don’t like it, sorry.

It’s one soldier per squad and Guerillas can’t place mines inside of enemy spawn zones so sneaking mines behind the enemy team is still better done by the class WE ALREADY HAVE

So, just after the event, basically half of players will be saboteurs (because you can cycle them faster than all other squads). Add some planes and tanks, and maybe you’ll have a couple of infantry squads actually fighting for objectives. After some time, saboteurs will slowly be reduced in number or be very rare, except super-sweaty stacks sho will ruin games thanks to this ill-conceived class.

yea and what if they made it so THIS one can place it inside enemy territory then hmm? do you know what that mean? cause i do

Im talking AT mine btw
