Because in real life it was and is considered a fighter the unit that uses the P-47 ingame is a Fighter squadron it should be in the fighter slot tbh.
We take the bomb off the P-47 and move it to the fighter slot give 6x HVARs to the P-51 instead of the 2x 500 I say that’s a fair change and give the F-80 16x HVARs and the Meteor 16x RP-3s this makes both classes of planes distinctly suited to specific ground attack roles.
Fighters>Kill planes>suppress infantry
Attackers>kill tanks>destroy emplacements
Also gives more incentive to use the actual attackers.
Did the P47 ever have the ability to simultaneously carry 10 hvar and 1 500 pound bomb? or is this fictional like giving the meteor 500 pound bombs.

Customizable armaments is the only thing people should be asking for. Once this is a thing, as well as the inclusion of more armaments (R4M rockets for example), discussions like this will finally be mute. Then we can all bitch about how 4 HVARs should be BR2 instead of BR3.
Can’t remember who mentioned it or when, but it was alluded to that a feature like this may be in the works.

it can carry way more, 10 HVARs 2 1,000lb bombs and the 500lb bomb.

We have complained about that truck being a joke in the past - sure it should get fixed, but you are right that this is generally a “no high tier AA” issue.

Also remember that the Germans can have 2 KTs on the field, but the Americans cannot have two attackers at the same time.

Id say fixed, cant find even a attacker plane from GE tree that would have 2x 500kg.
While 1 meteor can deal with 2 KT’s on 1 run due to having 2 bombs.
the 500lb ~250kg bomb is more than enough to deal with any tank on field.
Granted that now, you actually have to hit much closer due to weaker bomb.
But still, not exactly something a average joe couldnt handle.

And to think that Krieg spent his time crying, saying that the F-9 was better than the P-47 even though the latter was weakened.
That makes it better for aerial combat since it is lighter because it doesn’t have extra weight.
And which Allied aircraft has a deadly 30mm cannon? They are excellent against infantry!
Well, if you really think two 250kg bombs can make a big difference, start asking them to replace the 500kg Messerschmitt bomb with two 250kg bombs. As far as I remember, that was possible.
