Move the MP 717r to BR 4

Should the MP 717 (r) be lowered to BR4?
  • Yes, move it to BR4
  • No, keep it on BR5

The MP 717r is an old Stalingrad Pass owner weapon that is currently on BR5, however I believe that it should be on BR4 instead, and that is because it is on par, if not ever so slightly weaker, than some quite similar BR4 SMGs, the PPD 40 and PPSH 45, which I will compare to the MP 717r. On the PPSH 45’s debut, it was originally BR5, but was later moved down to BR4. In comparison with the MP 717r, they have a fire rate about 200 RPM faster (1040 of both Russian guns vs 960 of the MP 717r), the PPSH 45 has a 0.3 second faster reload, with a few other very minor differences in other stats that don’t matter as much. If the PPSH 45 and PPD 40 can be BR4 without a problem, I’m pretty sure nobody complained about the change, then the MP 717r should be on BR4 as well.

Actually, i dont know why it should not be in BR IV. The PPDs, PPSH 45, (hopefully thompson 50 drum soon) and tokyo arsenal already are set at BR IV, so all nations would have something, which seems balanced to me

It’s very strange that Germany can have the PPSh Drum on the BR4, but the USSR can’t. Maybe we can take it both on BR4?

It also is very strange that the german version has 200 rpm more so maybe it is because of that?
Have you ever concidered that?
That is why they are treated seperately here.

If you want to move the PPSH aswell then do another topic for that.

Stalingrad weapons are generally stronger than standard ones. And I’ve often heard that the German PPSh is superior to the Soviet one.

Because of that 0.1 more damage at 100 meter?

In my opinion - ALL SMG in this game must be not higher then 4 BR. 5BR - place for automatic rifles and assault rifles, al least strong MG, but not the SMG.

So what makes an assault rifle innately better than an 100 round smg with high rof?

But I think it’s best to leave SMGs with very large magazines at BR5. Like the Koenders, the Shpitalny, or the Thompson 100.

Do you mean Сönders MG (SMG)?
Well, how can I put it? Firstly, Сönders is the exception rather than the rule here. Secondly, the Сönders is still a submachine gun, which means its round is weak and at range it turns into a peashooter. And at 5BR, combat ranges are often long. Thirdly, generally speaking, an assault rifle is more versatile than a submachine gun. So yes, a submachine gun can be quite effective at close range, but how often does that happen? In most cases: assault rifle > submachine gun.

Not specifficly but more like the thompsens with 0.21 dispersion. Half the dispersion of an AR combined with high damage doesnt sound so bad…

Honestly both the ppSh 41 and mp717 need to be br4.

I don’t know about that, the mp717r only just fits into br4 and that ppsh41 is stronger than it.

Yeah but then you’re forgetting about the ppSh-45 which has a quicker reload time than the 41.

Ummm ok i Will quietly take My LAD and conders and hide them on My backpack don’t worry i Will not cause a massacre :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: where countless br 3 souls die to these 2

O.3 second faster reload? That will make almost 0 difference in game.
