Right now the MG nest is basically bipoded MG42. In my opinion it’s a waist of a mechanic. Bipoding should be normal option for MGs and AT rifles, while MG nest should be changed to HMG nest, like PM M1910 for SU or MG42 on tripod for GE.
I hope bipods will be implemented to the game oneday. So far MG42 as main weapon is useless, especialy with it’s random recoil.
