Bipod For Weapons ( MGs and AT Rifles ) - Main Suggestion Idea

i’m not sure if it has been asked before, but i think that a bipod it’s needed.

How Does it works?:
basically, whenever you are near a surface, there’s an icon that tells you that you can place the bipod, and whenever you place the bipod, it helps the player to controll the recoil

Why?:
well, most of the time i find my self trying to cover my team with some suppressive fire by the mg, but the problem is, for doing that, i have to prone. and it’s not always possibile to prone and shot. especially if you are like in buildings at top floors.

How to balance it:

Pro:
-helps you to manage the recoil better

Cons:

  • deploying the bipod will decrease angle of action of the barrell and depression( if positioned on windows due to structure )
  • might takes around 1/2 seconds of animation.

Conclusion;
i think that the bipods are needed.

I hope they are able to implement this into a more smooth system, like what they have in Battlefield 1, where if you just lay down or approach a compatible surface the bipod automatically deploys and an icon tells you the bipod is working.

Right now we have this system for going prone with Bipoded weapons but it doesnt work if you place the weapon on any other surface like a box or windowsill.

I really dislike not being able to use windows and sandbags as places to put my bipods, as I use MG13s and PzB38s rather often. I personally would be fine with a “if gun stick out of window > lower recoil” solution. (which would be pretty simple to implement)

I did ask about that in a previous test about 1 year ago.
They would have to develop a system for Bipods which is not done.
It might be in development though, but I do not think we will se them too soon.

Make it a more refined version of the way HnG does bipods. You get the option to deploy it when the surface is tall enough, and get a decreased field of movement and slightly slower gun swing but much increased stability.

so I just got the LMG squad and I dont see a hotkey for posting up a bipod, is this not implimented yet or does it automatically deploy when you lay down?

I saw many questions about while crouching etc. wasnt sure if laying down was already implimented. It is a beta so Im just trying to clarify, no need to be nasty

but i do see now as a newer person and i do apologize for the incovenience.

but yeah, sadly, we don’t have bipods yet.
we will probably get them in in next updates. as the road map stated that new mechanics will arrive.

dont want to keep necroing the post but… I do notice at least a 50% increase in stability when laying down. This game has so little recoil compared to others that this was the 1st weapon I noticed it as being an issue

most weapons have drastically lower recoil when prone. However, it is not a bipod feature because crouching behind windows does not work.
