Errr, no, they are near spawn shooting anyway, from areas that cannot be reached, so being unable to shoot is required regardless (I don’t really like that tanks spawn so far back and can fire on enemies from any range).

Adding this also enables exactly what you are saying to do, just better and more organically.

He is talking about a solution to prevent something that is inside of their spawn to shoot outwards, which is LITERALLY the inverse.

Grey area prevents some players from spawncamping but also allows mortars to sit there and bomb the whole map without getting killed. I suggest, grey area stays but mortars cant shoot in that area

No, I mean allied tanks not leaving their spawn because they found a good spot to shoot frum

Lobbing/spamming them over buildings (less range than mortars but still somewhat usable on certain maps) - of course these have less ammo

It’s always hard to balance spawncampers, you have them in pretty much every game. But I think throwing a grenade over buildings is more of a tactic rather than an issue (weren’t grenades made for that?)
