Make the AVT-40(15) more useful

It’s been a long time since the AVT-40(20) was introduced, leaving the AVT-40(15) as nothing more than a roadblock in the grind. So, instead of letting it collect dust, why not make some balance adjustments to let it serve a purpose in its remaining lifespan?

  • Just throw it into BR4 without any changes
  • Change the base damage to 12.0, set the weapon tag to machine gun, place it at BR3, and use it as a supplement for a high-mobility, low-BR Soviet machine gun option

Oops, my hand slipped and I sent it before finishing XD. Should be good now.

My God. TT SF rifle on BR4 . . .

Well I also want to make something with AKT - even through it below

I believe a “just leave it where it is” option is missing.

I don’t know how to add a third option.

Where is variant: “Do nothing and just leave AVT-40-15”?

It’s just adding a " * ‘Option’ " underneath the second option. Replace ‘Option’ with what you want to have as the option and you’re done

Tbh its no a real rudimentary - something have to be done with it I suppose🤷‍♂️

Both options are terrible.

Do you know how BR4 SF looks like? AKT. Definitely not like AVT-40 15 without any changes.

The second option is straight up nonsensical buff. BAR like smg for every faction I guess. Because nothing can be unique.

They should just remove the weapon from TT, make it legacy. There’s no real reason of its existence nowadays.

The real question is, when are we getting the AVT 40 with its one and only standard issue magazine?

Both the 15 and 20 round magazines were prototype, small batch, and eventually cancelled.

In real life AVT automatic fire was barely controllable.

I wish we had SVT and AVT as tradeoff options - you either go for precision but semi-auto, or higher recoil but full auto.

Where’s the leave it as it is option?

There should be a “leave it as is option”.

But really though, a AVT-40 as a Soviet BAR alternative is something I’ve wanted to see, as that’s what this things was developed for in the first place, to serve as a LMG alternative due to the low production of other viable alternatives.

But I don’t want to see it moved for this purpose… I think options are nice, and it should remain where it is… New 15 and 20 round AVT-40s in BR II and III MGs would be my prefered implementation, or (even better) a select function where you can transfer/transform weapons into other weapon classes.

Such as being able to switch between SF roles or MG roles for the AVTs, or M2 Carbines into Assault Rifles, to name but a few. With nessesary stat changes for balance wherever nessesary, of course.

Granted, this last option would be one hell of a feature to implement… But it would be more elegant than adding “new” already existing guns over and over until they fill all the functions they could/should be able to fill.

Still want my M2 Carbine AR (or at least, M2 become equipable on Assaulters too), would rather use it over the Hyde, me no likie prototypes (especially when there are other more applicable weapons that can and should occupy that role).

I tried to edit my poll options, but I don’t know if it’s a bug or something—it said I had to wait 5 minutes before modifying. I waited almost half an hour and still couldn’t change it.

Given the current programming capabilities of the developers, this mechanism is too complex. It would be better to just change the weapon type directly.

The assault rifle upgrade option is essentially a nerf to weapons that are already weak. Instead of hoping for them to be reclassified as assault rifles, changing them to submachine guns would be more reliable. Besides, most of the historically feasible guns have already been released. What’s left is basically just swapping attachments or reskinning weapons from other factions to pad out events or tech tree updates.

You missunderstand me…

I don’t want to change it to become an AR, for the same reason I don’t want to change the AVTs.

I’d rather see it copied, or added extra capabilities (troops who can take it).

I don’t understand what the developers are trying to do. Sometimes they give shotguns—which are pretty useless—to pilots, and other times they simply reclassify rifles as submachine guns. So I think changing the weapon category is probably easier than changing the eligible troop types.

Why is there no “No” option?

It’s a soviet main post. There’s is no no option. Only yes options

Create a new poll with a no option
This poll is biased so the post will get locked if you don’t change it
