M2 Carbine: 8.8 to 13.6 Damage

The M2 Carbine is currently outclassed by all other BR 5 “Automatic Rifle” or “Select-Fire Rifle” classed weapons. With the proposed buff, the weapon is more balanced, acquiring comparable stats to the Japanese Type Hei Automatic Rifle (with some minor advantages and disadvantages).

At 13.6 damage, the weapon one-taps vitality up to ~15m. It becomes a more appealing option to the T20 within that range, meaning there would be consideration between picking either weapons.

As for the M2A1, it would also receive the same damage buff. This would bring it to comparable strength of the Fedorov Avtomat, if not slightly stronger. However, since Assaulter Squads at BR 5 aren’t as strong as Rifleman squads, I believe stronger Assault Rifles are a good thing for top tier balance, and we could see similar buffs for other intermediate cartridge weapons in future discussions.

Would you like to see the M2 and M2A1 Carbines receive a Damage buff to 13.6 Damage?

What happens to the M1 and M1A1 then? They fire the same round.

The M2 carbine only shoots ammunition barely larger than pistol ammo so how should it do more damage than AR sized intermediate bullets?

In what? Ammo pool? Definitely not.

like how do you want to do that?
Give all AR 15 dmg? But what then happens with SF rifles? How do you buff those then?

Tell your dad to stop selling it to me then

You can still bring 9 SFs compared to only 4 ARs so there is 0 need to buff SFs

where on this post did OP say to give AR 15 dmg

This post has nothing to do with buffing BR 5 rifles, aside from the M2 Carbine.

yea no i would rather move it to BR4 and put it on SMG why?

because that way it woud counter kirally

So all you want is OP allied weapons and nothing in return for the axis to make it balanced…
Great idea…

Yet you want to buff an SF rifle… how ironic.

Also OP did imply that he wanted to also buff ARs aswell until he said he suddenly does not want to anymore after that.

Composite posts don’t get forwarded by the helpers, nor get considered by the developers.

I want the M2 Carbine to be balanced, not overpowered. If you think it’s overpowered with 13.6 damage, please explain why, and what you would rather it be instead of simply conflating.

If you have ideas for something similar for Germany, definitely consider suggesting it in a topic yourself. Responses like this one are not constructive, and why so many forum posts aren’t taken seriously.

This topic itself doesn’t address AR rifles aside from the M2A1 Carbine. I have made separate posts in the past about buffing them.

Just because someone doesn’t convey all of the additions/changes they want in one post, does not mean they doesn’t want the other ones to happen as well. Please stop this obtuse behaviour.

They don’t need buffing. They preform well already.

The T20 is the clear choice, it’s why you almost never see the M2 Carbine.

Using the Type Hei Automatic as a balance starting-point, you can make the M2 Carbine a comparatively strong option to the T20, but with a different set of strengths and weaknesses.

The T20 needs a nerf/balancing then. The M2 dominated in the old campaigns, it’s still really good.
