Lahti L-39/44: A Br 2 automatic anti tank rifle as German BP weapons

We all know the famous Lahti L-39 anti tank rifle, but what if I tell you there is a full auto variant of this beauty. The L-39/44 was intended to be an anti air rifle. It has two buffer springs added on both sides of gun.

The original firing pin being replaced with new fixed firing pin. With fixed firing pin installed the gun was fired by pressing bolt release in front of its pistol grip. Since the normal trigger was no longer needed, it was often removed.

Specification

  • Total length:224 cm
  • Barrel length:130 cm
  • Weight:56.5 kg
  • Muzzle velocity: 800m/s
  • ROF:325 rounds/min
  • Ammo capacity: 10 round box magazine
  • Penetration: 30mm(100m)

Since we haven’t have any automatic anti tank rifle in game , this one would be an interesting option as a BP weapons.
Despite being a prone mechanic weapon, it’s slow rate of fire will make it very stable and useful to deal with enemy APC. Imagine that you can use it just like how you use AA gun in BF1 . To make sure this weapon won’t be too powerful, it’s default ammo should be(10/10) just like the Solothurn.

Do you want the L-39/44 added as German BP weapons?

It would probably be near useless against most BR2 tanks outside the T28 and Crusader and some BR1 tanks outside of shooting their tracks, but I could see it being fun to use against unarmored targets. +1

We have the solothurn. No need for this

Seems fun

You might confused it with the L-39, which is semi auto, the L-39/44 could fire in full auto.

It’s AA sight could also help you to deal with enemy aircrafts :smirk:

And why do we need another prone AT rifle that can fire full auto? In br2 nonetheless. Full auto will surely be a waste and not accurate, it won’t help you blow a tank or anything more effectively simply because it’s full auto.

It’s a cool gun, just completely useless. There are so many other useful things we could use before this

Yes but at BR1. Have you seen japans AT rifle? If that things BR1 this should be too.
Do you agree with me?

Semi auto: Br1
Full auto:Br2

use solothurn)

Full auto isnt going to do much for a gun with 10/10 rounds.

That make sense to me, maybe 10/20 would be better. The main reason I prefer it as Br2 weapon is I think it’s very useful to destroy enemy APC, especially when it’s moving from far distance.
It’s rate of fire is only a bit faster than the Chauchat, so firing it in 2 round burst would be effective.

If you have vertical recoil perk, a semi auto AT rifle is pretty stable, if it’s a full auto I don’t think it’s still suitable for Br1

A full auto AT rifle might look like this, despite it has a penetration for Br1, you can disable enemy vehicle more quickly, which is pretty annoying. I think It would be over power for Br1.

Usually when I tried to use semi auto AT rifle to stop APC, once the engine is broken, the crew will just leave. But if it’s a full auto AT rifle, you might have a chance to take the whole crew and destroy the APC at the same time.
