Spanish Republican armorer handling a scoped SIG KE7 : r/ForgottenWeapons
Because everything should have a scope, Japan has scoped machine guns but not scoped semi autos. The KE7 like the bar and Bren are accurate low capacity machine guns. Addimng this as an event, battle pass or lastly premium option would just be cool. at least br3 as it be funny to have a scoped version of a weapon lower than the stock weapon. will look for a small magazine ke7 would also be funny to see a 10 round ke7 at br2 like they did to a certain axis assault rifle.

I mean this could be like a br 4 sniper weapon.

Possibly even a 5BR.

If it was a rifle but with a max of three per squad br3 is fine funny how limiting the numbers helps

This photo is from the Spanish Civil War. They say it’s Republican. Which unit would use it? The Blue Division as a trophy or Spanish communists fighting for the USSR?

Why did you attribute the non-existent KE-7 with a sight to Japan, when it was actually the Spanish who created it.

I don’t think he’s attributing it to Japan. It looks like it’s worded to justify why this weapon could go to Japan. They already have 2 Ke-7 now and historically put scopes on machine guns. I guess it’d fit? It’d be cool to see. Fingers crossed the type 96 and 99 can get their scopes one day.

It’s a cool gun but is there any evidence that Japan actually captured the scoped model? Idk. I’d still prefer something more authentically Japanese.

The Japanese didn’t even have anywhere to capture this as a trophy. This thing probably never even existed in China. It’s some kind of DIY from the Spanish communists.

spain fought with germany if the tiger 1 i mean type 4 heavy can be included

I don’t see what you’re getting at here. Japan has a single event Tiger 1 because Japan actually bought one from Germany. It never arrived but Japan did technically have ownership. If this scoped model was a communist DIY in Spain then I doubt it was even on Japan’s radar.

Japan built 3 ch nu 2 so it anit building any tiger tanks

I think you’re misunderstanding what I wrote. Japan did one a tiger tank. The plan was to ship it over to Japan in pieces aboard cargo submarines. Now obviously you can’t fit a tiger hull into a submarine so the plan never worked out and the tiger never made it to Japan. The fact is Japan did buy it for the purposes of evaluation.

This scoped Ke-7 idea really has no way of going to Japan since this was probably a one off in the Spanish civil war. Sig never made any Ke-7 with a factory scope configuration. And as far as I can find, Germany never even logged or classified such a weapon during their intervention into that civil war. So this tells me that they were made in such small numbers that either 1: Germany never encountered it. Or 2: There were so few that Germany didn’t feel the need give it a designation in their records.

The difference here is that Japan bought and owned a tiger tank. Japan likely wasn’t even aware of the existence of a scoped Ke-7.

the idea of the game is what a faction could have fielded
us could have made t20 rifles if germany had more fg42’s g41/43 and the garand was not good enough

my point is if japan can have a tiger 1
they could not ship to japan
and were incapable of building on their own to test much less put into battle
tthey had ke7’s from japan
they have ke7s in the game
adding a regular, not night or infrared scope is less beyond them then a tiger
so japan owned a tigwer tank
1 they could not build more of
so if it was a like a field power up

That arguement doesn’t make any sense. Japan could have fielded a captured Sherman. They could have fielded all kinds of things. The reason Japan has a Ke-7 is because they actually captured and used them. The scope version of the Ke-7 never left Europe. Probably never left Spain.

If it’s about what they “could have fielded” then why doesn’t Japan have captured 1919s? Why don’t we have BARs in Japanese hands? It’s about what they did have. Things that actually existed and were owned by Japan. They actually picked up the Ke-7. They actually bought and owned a tiger after some officers went over there to Germany and watched a demonstration. This is an utter fanfic for Japan.

If Japan needs more scoped weapons then how about we advocate for all of their semi auto prototypes that absolutely were tested with scopes? I will once again harp on the Nambu machine gun scopes. Between the semi autos and the mgs there’s 5 alone. Why are we out here trying to give Japan a weapon they likely didn’t even know existed?

And yes I’m aware that there is a battle pass BAR for Japan. But my point remains. There’s a million things Japan “could” have used. This isn’t one of them.

I will also add that you really shouldn’t use the Tiger as some sort of green light to just give Japan anything you find in a random photograph. Japan could absolutely have built it from schematics. It’s a box with tracks and a turret. It’s not that deep. It’s never been that deep. In fact they also purchased a Panther along with 2 Pz IIIs. One of the N model and J model respectively. There is a difference between owning something and even being privy to its existence.

Then why didn’t they field any modern heavy tank designs, why didn’t Germany replace the kar98 with the g43. Production, yes they could have built a tiger tank maybe 2 or three but none would have been put into combat. You need spare part, a vehicle to tiw it if it gets stuck so at least one tiger turned into a recovery vehicle. So let’s say two for testing four to make a unit in combat 4 worth if spare parts minus the hull. One as a recovery vehicle that’s like ten times two to three times what they could have ever built. So no the Japanese tiger in game as a combat vehicle is a work of fiction. Why didn’t italy make tigers closer to Japan they had the blueprints. That’s my point there both equally works if fiction the only difference is putting a scope on a k7 vs making 10 or more tiger 1 pranks in japan.

The difference is Japan out scopes on all of their indigenous MG designs. The Ke-7 is a captured weapon. The Japanese captured them during their campaigns in the pacific. The scoped Ke-7 was a one off in Spain. You can’t give a nation a gun they didn’t have any knowledge of. The tiger once again is not your excuse to add whatever you want to Japan.

Secondly you’re making a double standard here. So in order for the tiger to be ok in game it has to have had an entire supporting base being it, recovery vehicles, spare parts, etc. But just because you want a scoped Ke-7 a single photo from the side of the planet is fine? That premise is absurd in its face.

And I’m not following what you’re on about with Italy making tigers closer to Japan.

No my standard is what would it take to make each a scope ke7 vs a platoon of tiger tanks
Japan has hundreds of ke7s they could make scopes for mgs
Japan dud not make a single modern heavy tank much less multiple
