It's time to downgrade MP717(r) to BR4

In next update, German BR5 TT will get the Suomi SJR, a 9mm SMG with high capacity, low recoil, and standard damage. It completely surpasses the existing BR5 German SMG MP-717(r).

Through comparing statistical, MP-717(r) is very similar to that of the Soviet PPD series SMG, and their performances are basically at the same level.

Therefore, there is no reason for the MP-717(r) to remain in BR5. I suggest downgrading the MP-717(r) to BR4.

  • Yes, MP-717(r) should be BR4.
  • No, MP-717(r) should remain in BR5.

Only if PPSH41 also downtier to BRIV

I would like to say that the PPSH-41 shoots faster, and the German MP-717 stats are more comparable to the PPSH-45.

By what rule? The Mp717 is comparable to the PPD-40, not the PPSH.

MP717 should always be compared to regular PPSH - which is practically the same gun, with the only difference that it uses mauser C96 ammo, which is a bit weaker than 7.62 TT rounds.

As a result its cyclic rate and bullet velocity and theoretical damage would be slightly lower than a regular PPSH.

Now - if you say MP717 should move to BR4 you would also need to move PPSh41 to BR4 aswell.

Personally, I think PPSH41 is very usable in BR5, but also not that more powerful than Kiraly for example (tho Kiraly is hard to control, PPSH is a laser beam)

No matter what happens, two main arguments should be considered first:

  • IF PPSH41 gets moved to BR4, Soviets would end up with no BR5 SMG, which is the main argumet for adding Suomi to begin with.

  • however IF MP717 gets the “special” treatment of being moved to BR4 while PPSH stays in BR5, because MP717 is a legacy gun … well then Germany would end up with a better PPSH, which is stupid for faction design - unless nerfing MP717 of course.

exept the stats dont agree with you.
The MP 717 isnt just a direct copy from the soviet PPSH which is why they are treated diffrently.

Well the Soviets have the PPSH-45. Which is a PPSH-41 with a metal stock and slower rate of fire. So wouldn’t that count, since the MP-717(r) is only available to certain players

PPSh-41 can be transferred to 4 BR along with Tokyo Arsenal SMG and MKB 42 (H).

I’m pretty sure almost everyone wants the MKb.42 to be br 4, with it’s stats comparable to the Stg 45 M i think it’s call? I know ot belongs to the 88th division with those orange uniforms

I mean, if we compare it to br4 ppd40, which is BETTER…

Indeed.

I probably wouldn’t even use MKB in BR4 seriously when I have Kiraly outside of larping perhaps, its RPM truly limits its power. Same reason why I stopped MP40.

Firing rate of MP-717(r) is slower than that of PPSH-41 or PPD40. They are not the same gun.

Again, its because of the ammo difference.

Do you really think 1000 rpm vs 1200 rpm justifies one whole BR increase?

Given the importance of firing rate, the difference between them is even greater than that between the PPSH and PPD40

I dont know, the difference between 500 RPM and 700 RPM is like 3 BRs in power, while everything above 900 RPM feels like a gimmick.

Though I will agree that super rapid SMGs firing more rounds will increase the chance to hit per second at longer ranges, but in regular ranges everything above 1000 rpm seems overkill to me.

For the PPD 40 it does, so yes

That doesn’t matter. The gun is comparable to the PPD-40, if you wanna argue that the PPSH is not too distinct from the PPD-40, that’s another topic.

MP 717(r) should stay at BR 5 as it’s not a ‘feature’ gun of Germany.
MKb 42(H) should go to BR 4 instead. Not one, but two other german ARs in tech tree are better at BR 5, event MKb 42(M) is much better and is already at BR 4, and BR 3 version of MKb 42 (H) already exist.
