Interview confirmed Wipe in OBT

Gonna disagree with you on this, I’ve played several games that did this, I still play one of them, and it has a recurring problem with that system.

Having more ammo is always superior, especially to people who can aim well, making the other option a waste of time. It lowers DPS, it lowers potential kills, it lowers everything. Having a larger ammo count is always the better choice.

As for your other comment, different ammo types, different bolts, different barrels, etc, gonna disagree with this as well. A game called Heroes & General does this, and it’s atrocious. The difference between someone with everything upgraded vs nothing upgraded is stellar. You might as well compare the technology from 2021 with the technology from 3000 BC. The end result is that you need to grind for months to even start having a chance.

It does pose a risk if you get caught out reloading, especially if the reload is actually proportionally long enough. Enlisted currently doesn’t do any of this. That’s why I am suggesting to make this a thing. This way, you would at least occasionally wish you had a PPD(box) instead of going for the PPD(drum) 100% of the time. Even just making it 80/20 would be an improvement for me.

That’s because the supposed sidegrades are actually upgrades there.
And Enlisted currently works in the exact same way as H&G, with the differences with maxed out vs stock guns being very large.

A barrel should never increase damage, for example.
A longer barrel would improve spread, as well as increase velocity, leading to better damage retention over range. However, it would be heavier, leading to the soldier walking move slowly, as well as more bulky, requiring a slightly longer time to ready the gun after sprinting or turning quickly.

And sure, there will be a meta. There will always be a meta. But as long as I have a mostly fair chance to win if I am a higher skill player regardless of what gear my opponent has, that is a win in my books.

I agree, unless the differences in mobility and reload time are stretched to rather ridiculous extremes. You can always choose when to reload. You cannot always choose when you need more cartridges in your magazine to deal with the enemy.

Can you tell us are devs looking to change the current squad system?

The one we have is too lame and a lot of players hate it

Not really, either you stretch the reload timer to levels where it defies reality itself in every way, or you end up with the bigger magazine being flat out superior in every way. Using something like an MP41 is often more than enough to down an entire squad before having to reload to finish them off. Or the M3 grease gun, a clip was more than enough to down a squad of 7 and kill 3 before having to reload to finish off the rest, and that’s with missing a few shots. Having a bigger drum that gives me let’s say, 20 more rounds would only make killing that squad faster and reduce the amount of time i have to expose myself to eliminate them.

On the topic of upgrades, on this I agree, I’ve upgraded several weapons, M3 Grease Guns, Lee Enfields, Browning Auto, some Kar 98s and such, the difference even from going 1 star to 2 stars is insane, the difference between 1 star to 3 star is ridiculous as well. It’s honestly not as bad as H&G, I’ve played that thing for years and it’s only gotten worse and worse for new players and more in favor of us vets, Enlisted by comparison is more balanced when it comes to stock guns vs max guns, still bad, but more balanced than it’s equivalent game.

I’m hoping the devs were will never implement a similar to H&G because I’ve seen that, I’ve experienced it both as a new player and as a veteran, and I never want to see it again. The current system is fine, but it needs some fine-tuning, the differences in gun upgrades needs to be toned down, and some of them replaced, like you said, no magical damage increase from upgrading the weapon, give it better accuracy and less spread and justify it with “Better weapon maintenance” and leave it at that.

Not if the PPD(box) could wipe out said squad in a single magazine as well. Then you can get reloaded much quicker than with the drum, allowing you to be ready for the next engagement much faster.

Also, larger magazine doesn’t increase DPS, and as such doesn’t improve killing time at all, unless you hit the point where you have to reload with one of the guns, but not with the other.

They do also need downsides, imo.
Make them optional, instead of required, to be competitive.

Overrunning bunkers or buildings in general benefit from being able to maintain the tempo of your attack. A larger magazine enables you to continue the push and maintain the momentum. Plenty of time for reloads after you have secured the entire structure thanks to your shock assault.

Then let me ask you:
Why did they add the PPD34/38(box) if it is intended to be useless, and how can we make it not useless?

Because if it remains to be useless that’s just another level of stock grind you have to get past, and I really see no other reason for this other than “if people keep grinding they wont notice how bad the gameplay actually is so they will keep playing for longer this way”

I don’t know why the developers add things to this game even when they’re purportedly “useless”. Without magazine malfunctions, significant weight penalties or possibly ease of use modeled the drum magazines will maintain an edge over the lower capacity box magazines simply because you can press the attack for longer comparably. As I already said, you and you alone choose when to reload. You cannot always choose when the enemy appears in front of you.

ya, like some useless emblem lol yeah, can’t even play the game, because why? I just sort of derp around, and test stuff.

Judging by the interview - devs read all our comments lolol damn it, I’ve said some silly stuff. Meh, I troll too much

There are no emblems in the game smh

The last time I used both, the box PPD was buffed to have less recoil than the drum PPD, though that’s the opposite of how it would be irl.

I’m still in support of adding more jams. That only bolt actions jam right now is backwards.
These balance issues will be smoothed out if automatics weren’t 100% reliable.

We have the poster/spray thing, never used it. So that’s what we’ll get as Beta Tester Super Reward - a spray poster ))

I have no idea what you are talking about “poster spray thing” what?

look at premium packs, read the description. mkay? propaganda posters

Can you just screen shot me? I can’t chack it rn

dude, i was jk. I was joking that all we will get as Beta reward will probably be something useless - like a propaganda poster. I don’t hope for anything useful.

nah, we still have lots of things to go before open beta.

tunisia campaign is one of them.

I thought Normandy was supposed to mark open beta?

he is not joking, what he correctly said, is that there is some sort of spray mechanic to put posters. as you have premium squads, you have to theck your settings and there is a button for it. doing that, you will lay down a propaganda poster.
