Interview confirmed Wipe in OBT

I read it and I agree we need a wipe especially now when we are getting a new progression system

Fair enough, leveling up guns is painfully slow, especially with how lousy the system is designed to get weapons. Getting a 5-star gun is a distant dream as far as i’m concerned.

Personally I’m expecting them to monetize this aspect and make it so we can buy gun parts with real currency so we can upgrade faster, and Soldier experience boosts.

Mmmm it’s good for free to play people but sad for us…

But hi at least we gonna get exclusive thing for our servicešŸ˜

If they do that the game is basically dead on arrival.
Buy a gun upgrade! It gives you 15% more damage! Or grind for it for 300 hours!

Most likely wont happen. Im certain.

Did the devs tell you that, or is that your own assumption?

Own assumption so far but if you chit chat with the guys you kind of get an idea how they tick.

Got any idea how much the grind time per gun upgrade / soldier levelup they are going for with the new progression system?
As 30+ hours to max one of those (taking into account you can grind for multiple at the same time) is just terrible.

Can only tell they working hard on making it fair for everyone while also working on bug reports.

Including the newbs with starter rifles only? :open_mouth:
No more gigantic advantages for long time players would be pog.

You can’t really make it fair for everyone though, buying a premium squad is an insane advantage if you’re any good at the game.

And making it so that there isn’t a difference between a newbie and a vet would pretty much remove progression and making advancing pretty meaningless.

You should not design a game’s playable hours only by grind and levels. In the healthy ways is the content and game quality!
It should be even after you unlock the entire levels you still have the motivation to play the game.

You would need a MM then who determines the average Squad lvl of the entire lineup you have

It would be very much meaningful, if done right.
Take the PPD Box vs PPD Drum as example.

If you own the DDP Drum, there is not a single reason to use the box max, thanks to the higher capacity.

However, if you made it so the Box reloaded much faster, or the Drum much slower, it would become a sidegrade, and therefore forcing you to choose between the two weapons.

They would still be very different from one another, but one would be more of a high-risk, high-reward weapon than the other.

No. You only have to not make some gear blatantly more powerful than other gear.

Well I mean campaigns will be published most likely.

Agreed 100%. And the only way to do this is to not make the top tier stuff blatantly overpowered.

You mean the devs will add more grind for us to progress through? We would only play it because there is new shiny stuff to unlock.
What if the rate of releasing new campaigns gets too slow, and we actually reach the end of a campaign for once? A ton of players will just not enjoy the game anymore and stop playing, not to even mention the extremely split playerbase between all campaigns.

While current level system can lead a HUGE, very extremely huge player division! Especially as more campaigns arrives.
Fix that in new system!
I can imagine now, in the future, no new players want to play the oldest moscow campaign due to they have to grind again from a complete zero.

Part of this game is the grind. You’re always grinding for the next weapon upgrade, perk, or level. Without something new, players will abandon a game. Grinding stretches out the new, shiny things.

Currently, a 4-star gun is much better than a 3-star. It shouldn’t be that way, though. The final step should be a grind for a minimal gain. That’s where this game falters.

Or just more options.
Different ammo types which could be more accurate, or higher velocity, at the cost of more recoil.
Longer or shorter barrels, lighter or heavier bolts, there is a lot of stuff you could do that is based in realism, that affects nothing more than weight, velocity (and with that damage falloff), recoil, accuracy and fire rate, instead of magic stars that add magic bonuses to your guns.

Similarly, premium squads should only offer unique experiences such as the PPK, being the only low RoF Soviet SMG. The Suomi would be a good example of a high RoF SMG that could replace the MP41 as a unique weapon, instead of a strict upgrade over the MP40.
