From the battlefield: Saboteurs

That’s what guerillas already do. The disguise mechanic is just added for saboteurs because the bot AI is all over the place

Excuse me for bringing this up here, but could you report this bug?

Lol. Out 200 people. Can’t really say it’s overwhelmingly negative with such a small poll number. 40% is still quite large as well, it’s way closer than you make it seem and with being such a small population it could very well be upwards of 50% or more in reality.

I don’t know why people keep talking about war crimes. There was no such thing as war crimes during the war. It only became a thing after, but even then it’s not really real. It won’t be enforced unless you loose and if a country is truly at war they’re going to do whatever they can to win. Beyond all that, it’s a effing video game, like stfu already. You all sound like whining liberals.

The game should still be developed with the idea of it being a team game though. Because that’s what it is. It should reward those who recognize this. Mechanics shouldn’t be taken away or not implemented because the average player doesn’t play like they’re on a team.

That they were crimes was true, but technically all sides did it. I don’t know how it applied to Japan, but I do know that they painted some planes to look like American ones for an operation, although in the end they didn’t use them, and the idea itself was dishonorable for them.

I hope you realize trying to communicate as a team is really difficult when console players are unable to read text chat and your VOIP is only limited to people in your squad

Using enemy markings, or enemy vehicles with enemy markings, was not a war crime.

Wearing enemy uniforms, on it’s own, is not a war crime. Infiltration and missdirection was at times something both sides did.

Doing combat in enemy uniforms is a form of perfidy, and thus a warcrime. We have scant proof that anyone did specifically this, approaching none that any did this under orders. We have Soviet partisans sometimes doing so, irregular forces, behind enemy lines, not in open warzones.

This is why the class fails tonally, no one would conduct infiltration missions inside a god damn hotzone. As well as it being a lone-wolf “squad”, which is a dumb idea for a squad based game.

Every single time I checked my reddit poll, the approval rating hovered around 37-40% approval rating. So I feel pretty confident that we can extrapolate the data and get a general idea that the average person would not like to see the saboteur class added, even if they think the concept might be cool.

And I have no idea what kind of standards you have, but if I WERE a video game developer, I would not feel good about implementing anything to a game with an approval rating under 70%

Absolutely. Which is why we should continue supporting changes in that regard. Another issue with console (atleast xbox), is voice chat only comes through the TV speakers and there’s no options in game to change it to come out your headset (yes, even with this setting active on the xbox itself). This makes it almost impossible to hear your team mates speak over the sounds of the game. No clue why they have it set up like this, but it should definitely be changed. I don’t know how useful the text chat would be on console screens, as it will either be really hard to read or it’ll take up too much of the screen and be distracting. Nonetheless, there should be an option to enable/disable this feature.

Im on PS5 and this seems like an error on your half and not the game… it must be in your audio settings. PS5 works fine when not in party chat

To be clear, I’m talking about voice chat specifically with crossplay on with PC players and not other console players.

There are no setting options in the game itself that i could find to control this. I also stated that the setting on the console itself is set up right. Not to mention, enlisted isn’t the only game i play. Literally every other game has voice chat come out the headset. So either I’m just really dumb and can’t figure out what’s wrong or it’s the game doing it. I’ve been on xbox since it came out like 28 years ago, so I’m pretty confident it’s not on the xbox side.

That makes sense. So when German soldiers were executed in the Ardennes, technically for wearing American clothing/jackets or coats, was it a crime? Because I remember hearing about possible cases where German soldiers were executed for wearing American coats, even though they weren’t using them for infiltration purposes; they simply didn’t have their own winter clothing. I think the Soviets also had some kind of infiltration unit made up of German POWs, right? Although they weren’t very effective.

The lone wolf aspect is already well covered by the Partisan class. If you add silenced weapons, they’re truly lethal.

Not by itself, no.

After the war, Otto Skorzeny, the man behind the infiltration of American lines during the Battle of the Bulge, was put on trial in Dachau for his tactics. He was aquited on those charges, as the defence that they were not intended for combat was accepted, and the prosecution failed to prove that he had ordered any combat actions whilst wearing American uniforms.

The American soldiery might well have been overzealous, they could not serve as judge, jury, and executioner. Well, unless their superiors looked the other way, of course, but we’ve strayed far from the Rules of War by this point.

I meant “lone-wolf”, as in the Saboteur is a single-man squad.

I would agree that Guerrillas already provide the rear-line distruption role, and would so way better than the Saboteur. The idea that the Saboteur would provide any meaningful recon-value is frankly laughable, but that’s besides the point…

That explains how Skorzeny was able to avoid such charges. To this day, many aspects of the war have never been clarified and are full of assumptions and myths. For example, the idea that Japanese weaponry in general was of very poor quality seems to have originated mainly because by the time American troops had advanced far into the Pacific theater, the Japanese no longer had the production capacity to maintain the same quality.

Seriously, I didn’t expect it to be a one-man squad, literally. That explains why many people don’t like the idea.

If ur gonna do that math why are forum suggestions prioritized over Reddit whenever Reddit has a larger audience and a better system for suggestions

In that case pls give the Reddit community more support as it’s a far greater segment of the community that represents more kinds of players than the echo chamber that is the forums

Might be because the forum is moderated by Gaijin’s own mods, so the company has more control over the forum than the Reddit so it’s treat like the “official” place to make suggestions.

Then offer to buy it or something. You have a large audience that already has a community and relations with the cm built out for you

The forums are just absymal dogshit for a countless number of reasons that I’ve gone into many times before. All culminating in that they reward toxic basement dwellers over actually good points made by anyone.

I think the Reddit being independent has got its own benefits, for example it has it’s own rules, also Gaijin can censor whatever they dislike and since it’s moderated by the community it feels more informal.
