From the battlefield: Saboteurs

Enlisteds main pastime is shooting wounded troopers who are applying first aid to themselves. We’re way past war crimes angle. :face_with_monocle:

WW2 insurgent/spy Larp is extremely prominent part of the ‘genre’. Even if i completely dont care about it, doesnt mean its a point of attraction for many.

That’s what guerillas already do. The disguise mechanic is just added for saboteurs because the bot AI is all over the place

Excuse me for bringing this up here, but could you report this bug?

Lol. Out 200 people. Can’t really say it’s overwhelmingly negative with such a small poll number. 40% is still quite large as well, it’s way closer than you make it seem and with being such a small population it could very well be upwards of 50% or more in reality.

I don’t know why people keep talking about war crimes. There was no such thing as war crimes during the war. It only became a thing after, but even then it’s not really real. It won’t be enforced unless you loose and if a country is truly at war they’re going to do whatever they can to win. Beyond all that, it’s a effing video game, like stfu already. You all sound like whining liberals.

The game should still be developed with the idea of it being a team game though. Because that’s what it is. It should reward those who recognize this. Mechanics shouldn’t be taken away or not implemented because the average player doesn’t play like they’re on a team.

That they were crimes was true, but technically all sides did it. I don’t know how it applied to Japan, but I do know that they painted some planes to look like American ones for an operation, although in the end they didn’t use them, and the idea itself was dishonorable for them.

I hope you realize trying to communicate as a team is really difficult when console players are unable to read text chat and your VOIP is only limited to people in your squad

Using enemy markings, or enemy vehicles with enemy markings, was not a war crime.

Wearing enemy uniforms, on it’s own, is not a war crime. Infiltration and missdirection was at times something both sides did.

Doing combat in enemy uniforms is a form of perfidy, and thus a warcrime. We have scant proof that anyone did specifically this, approaching none that any did this under orders. We have Soviet partisans sometimes doing so, irregular forces, behind enemy lines, not in open warzones.

This is why the class fails tonally, no one would conduct infiltration missions inside a god damn hotzone. As well as it being a lone-wolf “squad”, which is a dumb idea for a squad based game.

Every single time I checked my reddit poll, the approval rating hovered around 37-40% approval rating. So I feel pretty confident that we can extrapolate the data and get a general idea that the average person would not like to see the saboteur class added, even if they think the concept might be cool.

And I have no idea what kind of standards you have, but if I WERE a video game developer, I would not feel good about implementing anything to a game with an approval rating under 70%

Absolutely. Which is why we should continue supporting changes in that regard. Another issue with console (atleast xbox), is voice chat only comes through the TV speakers and there’s no options in game to change it to come out your headset (yes, even with this setting active on the xbox itself). This makes it almost impossible to hear your team mates speak over the sounds of the game. No clue why they have it set up like this, but it should definitely be changed. I don’t know how useful the text chat would be on console screens, as it will either be really hard to read or it’ll take up too much of the screen and be distracting. Nonetheless, there should be an option to enable/disable this feature.
