To be honest I think the Fedorov Avtomat should have been balanced as a BR3 LMG like the American BAR.

That’s another option, yes.
“Automatic battle rifle” kind of role.

However, it still should have been a limited GO/BP/Premium weapon.
It was never officially used in WW2 and never as widespread as BAR on BR3 or StG on BR5.

The only mention of them I’ve seen so far is Winter War and the Armoury of Moscow People’s Militia as of September 1941.

THIS DAMNED STUFF IS THE MAIN PROTAGONIST OF THE UPDATE

We were presented with a finished class before even asking the community if it was a good idea, and here we are.

A class that almost no one likes, which has consumed an already limited budget and important time that could have been used for other things.

It can’t even be fixed because it’s fundamentally flawed. The only solution is to throw it away and admit that a mistake was made.

Competent people would have first:

Revealed the class and its features
Seen whether the community liked it or not
Start working on an implementation
Internal and community testing
Release if no other changes are needed

DON’T
Here’s the class, guys. It will be released with the next update. Goodbye.

The problem for me isn’t even the class itself, but the fact that work was done that has a high probability of turning out to be a waste of money because no one decided to do the most logical thing, which was to ask if it was a good idea before working on it.

Money that could have been invested in better stuff, like expanding an update that only has 3 recycled contents from WT and a copy-and-paste weapon.

Honestly im a hardcore player and I didint vote in any of these polls.

As someone who has a good track record making calls about future content for example

  • Soviet body armor is fine against Japan pre manchuria :white_check_mark: (team drama lost hard)
  • new AGL in premium sov mortar squad is not op and actually sucks (there was p2w outrage pre release) :white_check_mark:
  • sabouteur squads will be mid power level, see play but doubt affect the meta much :white_check_mark: (again massive outrage pre release, class is completely fine)

My new call re saboteur class is: its a NOTHINGBURGER. aka completely fine.

People who want to Larp as a spy will be able to, it wont affect the game in any major way, since players like that typically played sniper class or other useless kit anyhow.

I would like a medic overhaul, where people in some way can help regenerate squads without respawn - I think LARPing players like that would have more impact on the game and there is actually quite a few ppl who like to play doctor. Thats my only suggestion past current patch:

Okay. The way polling works, none of these polls are meaningful. First, there is zero randomness. Second, Quadro’s poll is going to be influenced by whatever Quadro says as he is a content creator. Third, Forum polls are always dumb because Forum users tend to be the most zealous. Finally, players are often terrible at knowing what they actually want.

All of this quibbling about inaccurate polls aside the Saboteur is still a dumb idea for many reasons.

This is a teamwork game and the Saboteur is antithetical to that.

The Guerrilla class already accomplishes the purpose of the Saboteur. It also does it much better as it is a full squad.

This game’s uniqueness comes mostly from the squad concept. Any single person squad is against that very uniqueness.

Pretending to be on the opposite team as a class is a gimmicky thing that is comical in this setting.

Almost everything DF has done with the design of this game makes sense and follows a logic that, even if you don’t agree with it, is logical. This whole Saboteur thing does not follow that logic.

This is totally reasonable. I still hate adding another useless class. We could get something actually useful but no, we get this.

On a side note medics that heal other players while you aren’t controlling them would be AMAZING.

Ironically this is also something they don’t like… although it’s masked by the class itself they won’t bother to cry about it :laughing:

Okay great lets add some more sources, let’s look at a forum poll. The people who post on the forums are going to be more invested in the game on average than other sites such as the subreddit, obviously

The saboteur class dont mix with the fast game play of enlisted!

The forums are full of core players with the highest loyalty, who are willing to spend real money and play the game seriously.
But the developers are now ignoring the opinions of their core player base, and instead catering to chaotic, unclear voices from outside. This is completely unreasonable.

There are countless precedents where amateurs directing professionals ended up ruining a product.
Adding a new class is a critical decision that affects game balance and ecosystem, yet they still haven’t opened a test server for us to test and verify.

I’m not just annoyed — I’m worried that one wrong move will push an already struggling game past the point of no return.
It’s like people who don’t even play the game making decisions behind closed doors, and then telling players how to play.

The unique feature of our game is fighting alongside AI units.
But now, DF has abandoned this core design. How can we fit into the current environment?
Once you take the wrong path, there’s no going back.
I’m deeply worried that they only want to make quick, cheap money.

Just look at us players — we play every day, follow the forums, and spend money on the game.
Yet they’re still using “cool” and “useful” to make false comparisons, and there’s clearly malice behind it.
But I think he’s just trolling. It’s good that it’s getting people talking, but his approach is pretty wild.

I’ve got something sad to say.
Recently, the rewards from our small events have been filled with more and more reskinned TT weapons. The powerful and fun golden card event weapons are appearing less and less frequently.

Our crates are flooded with duplicate weapons from the tech tree to ruin our chances of getting good items. I roughly calculated there are over 64 repeated ones polluting the drop pool.

They’re really turning this game into Call of Duty.

And another thing: there’s going to be a new event, but instead of giving us the MKB42 or Thompson .30, they’re just giving out reskinned TT and PPSh-41.

It’s really disappointing.

Running a poll on para divisions channel vs quadro would produce vastly different results as well

The point of this new class seems to be in intel gathering.
Kinda like how modern drone operators in upcoming Warthunder infantry mode work, I think this was an inspiration of sorts.

I do wonder - how will this intel gathering work in less-modern areas of WT infantry?
Who can know?

Have you been paying attention to anything I’ve been saying? I have never claimed the saboteur would be “overpowered”, that is not my concern

That’s actually hilarious given how basically nobody communicates. The average player is just going to use the saboteur like an assaulter
