I think it would be better to dismantle the functions of this new class and strengthen the guerrillas instead. Right now, guerrillas can’t drive enemy vehicles and get easily killed by enemy AI. That’s nothing like what guerrillas — special behind-enemy-lines squads — are supposed to do.
Guerrillas become way too oppressive with these things, even more so with not being seen by AI.
People need to just chill out a little bit and wait for the test server to get a feel for it. It seems niche and fun to me. Not something you’re going to use all the time, and very high risk/high reward. Which is the most exciting gameplay in my opinion. Matches are so incredibly boring these days. More diversity is a good thing.
Thailand.
Yeah, the detection is way too strong. Let’s compromise: just lower the AI’s awareness level instead.
Right now, the AI can’t keep up with a running player. I’ll be sprinting, thinking I haven’t been spotted, but the AI just takes the shortest path, cuts me off, and gets me killed.
I ended up turning my behind-enemy-lines play into a total mess, playing like a total bot. It’s really frustrating.
Oh! Speaking of Thailand, if DF does it right, they have to release multiple Thai units all at once—
heavily armored Japanese tank squads with Thai crew, Thai infantry, machine gun squads, event weapons, everything.
Even if they’re just reskins, as long as they’re Thai troops, it’s fine.
It won’t work without a full, complete lineup.
Ideally, do it both ways—like they did with the General Liu squad from the event and the Thompson in the shop.
That’s how you make a real major event update.
And add a new map at the end.
That way, the game will have a long, healthy future ahead.
The headline should really read: We have absolutely no idea what class we want to add to Enlisted.
But we’re adding Saboteurs—we already have the Guerrilla class, but whatever. If we have to do it, we should either have the Guerrilla class or the Saboteur class.
This way, you’re creating a new class that you’ll release in an event, hoping that a few players will grind it to boost your active player numbers.
- sparked intense discussions
- does literally nothing about the class
38% approval rating dude. The class has a 38% approval rating. Are you really going to ignore the community on this
Won’t be the first time theiy did
Im just happy to get an event squad slot
Okay great lets add some more sources, let’s look at a forum poll. The people who post on the forums are going to be more invested in the game on average than other sites such as the subreddit, obviously
Oh, shit, out of 169 forum users polled, 72% don’t want the Saboteur added. Are you going to consider this source too? Or is Quadro’s poll all the proof you need to worry about?
People can agree that something is “kinda cool”, whilst still being very critical to it.
This is incidentally why “polling” is an art, because you can shape the results of a poll by the way you frame the questions.
I mean, yes, this too. I actually think the concept of the saboteur class is “cool” but I don’t think it belongs in the game
War crimes shouldn’t be glorified, a squad based shooter shouldn’t have squads of single soldiers, its going to look stupid watching ethnic British people disguise themselves in the imperial japanese army. I can keep listing the reasons
You can do the math yourself
75% out of 2800 are fine with the class + the 112 from the reddit
Vs the 181 from reddit and the 72% out of 169
The results here are pretty clear
That is not what the poll asked. The poll asked if the class was “cool” not if it was “fine to add to the game”
Should I ask people if they think the Maus tank is a cool tank and then use it as proof why it should be added to Enlisted? @Euthymia07-live
Sure, I’d be curious with the result
What would be interesting about the potential result…? Wether 90% or 95% agreed that the Maus was cool…?
Wouldn’t be that useful in determining if people wanted it in the game.
Seen this way, it’s a marvel that the poll only got 75% approval of the question “is it cool”.
Even I agree that the concept “is cool”. Hero classes still shouldn’t be a part of this squad-based shooter.
Wouldn’t be that useful in determining if people wanted it in the game.
I bet a lot of people would say dual wielding pistols or SMGs would be “kinda cool” so let’s try to get that added to the game next, why not, am I right?
