Do not add Chinese weapons to Soviet tech tree (continued)

Not sure why my original thread had to be closed for foul languages by others (?)

Also not sure if the old poll still works, but last time I checked it looked like this:

Why I feel that this issue is important:

  1. Never in the history of Enlisted has a faction received a foreign tech tree (!) item which they never ever even saw or touched.
Sure, “Allies” get some British stuff, “Axis” get some Italian stuff (the upcoming KE-7 is concerning but at least the devs are trying to make a flimsy case with Ethiopian colonial wars or something), but WW2 USSR and China (KMT/CPC) were NOT a single/united/cooperating faction.

  2. Once again – neither of the Chinese armies (KMT/CPC) ever fought alongside/together with/under the command of the Red Army.
I feel like this gets confused a lot with modern day Russia/China or Cold War era USSR/PRC relations.
It was nothing like that during WW2.
China basically had two armies (KMT and CPC) who were fighting against the Japanese and sometimes against each other, and USSR supported both/either of them from time to time, but they were never strategic allies of the USSR since there was a neutrality pact between USSR and Japan signed in 1941.

  3. It goes without saying, that no Chinese formations were ever present in the Red Army on the Eastern Front during the battles of Berlin/Stalingrad/Rzhev/Moscow, and even in Manchuiria the Red Army did not fight side by side with either KMT or CPC, they were divided by vast spaces controlled by the Japanese for a decade by that time:

  4. I would even understand if Type 88 rifle was a trophy/captured/picked up in Manchuria/Khalkhin Gol as event weapon, but definitely not tech tree.

  5. Adding a completely foreign and random weapon like Type 88 to the Soviet tech tree will set a nasty precedent and could potentially lead to “Filipino gun for Allies, Brazilian gun for Germans, Zambian gun for Japanese” and etc. calls.

If it’s a Chinese event squad or a Chinese Premium squad can be added to USSR, but not in TT

that’s just factually wrong lmao.

the Ke7 & ZH-29 weren’t issued at all to germany, yet those are in the TT.

and

which defeats your whole point.

cause i can give italian weapons to germans, give them protos, and the other way around that they could have only dreamed.

so… no,
stop locking others people from your own nitpicks.

it’s fine really.
you can just avoid using said chinese rifle from any of your soldiers.

hitted on accident the send without addressing the other points.

But you just voted “add them to TT” lol

I wrote a whole paragraph about how Germans and Italians had joint operations at least and coordinated their command and logistics, but USSR and China never did.

Which I also mention (and oppose) if you care to read.

Germany at least captured Chechoslovakia where it was produced, at least it’s not completely unrelated like China and USSR.

neither did the allied fought with the chinese on tunisia, normandy, or germany with it.

boo hu.

same goes with the french new pilot in stalingrad, same goes with the moroc squads, same goes with the aussies in the western theater etc.

it’s really that late to try to address things now.

which the average player does not care at all.

hell, most of them don’t even notice it unless you bring that up.

… most of the weapons we used weren’t even used in the war.

ussr needed a new rifle that isn’t the same mosin.

something that perhaps won’t be overshadowed by the m44 or the less slower firing M28.

i failed how to see new content is a bad precedent.

I was a little confused but I understand now. I voted for the second option but

Ok, if you come from the standpoint “WW2 doesn’t matter”, then there’s nothing much left to debate. GL

ah yes.

everyone knows the famous assault on tunisia with VS weapons.
or… stalingrad / battle of the bulge with ab41s and semoventes lol.

it makes no difference cause the game evolves around gamemode,
not historical accuracy.

well, yes, but it goes a lil further.
if you really have to think about it.

except not a single one was used in german hands.
mostly exported.

that’s where you’re mistaken.

… but even then, *point finger at the soviet jet plane

that boat has sailed a long time ago.

however, the chinese rifle is still ww2.

which i ain’t gonna use.
cause funnily enough, i do actually run with HA loadouts.

but i don’t see why i my preferences should overrule the others lol.

this whole post and the one before screams about " me me me "

I believe haynyang 88 would be much better when given to an event squad. In tech tree it is just boring 5 round bolt action that is only serving as filler. If it was in event squad it could be tied to a unique chinese unit which would make it a lot more interesting.

I really see no reason to have it in the TT tbh. At BR1 the Soviets already have 5 rifles and the Haynyang 88 isn’t that different from any of them. And at BR2 it would just get overshadowed by the Winchester and Fedorov 1912, it feels like it’ll be DOA

It’s indeed content filler. No matter how they try to word it and justify it. How many more “rare” bolt actions rifles do new players need to unlock before they actually get to the good stuff?

I’d like a Chinese event squad for the USSR with this rifle, but as you say, reality was more complicated than that as they were not a unified army at all, paired with the fact that they were fighting a civil war during WW2. Which it would only generate more controversy and further discussion.

“Germany at least captured Czechoslovakia where it was produced, at least it’s not completely unrelated like China and USSR.”

Ok well it was all exported and sold to China almost exclusively just like the KE-7, and the soviets fought the Japanese who also had plenty of captured Chinese weapons. So, USSR would have captured/liberated Chinese equipment from the Japanese, right? See how “they captured X area or fought here” doesn’t work when people fight in theaters to obtain these guns?

Let alone, removal or turning the rifle into an event squad (horrid idea for a br 1 bolt action), would mean USSR gets LITERALLY 0 content in the update that follows their own campaign. Meanwhile Germany and US, who are unrelated to the campaign, already are getting double the content added (let alone more meaningful additions). It just sounds like dogpiling one nation to not get content, but it factors differently for when literally any other nation receives said benefits.

When there was an outcry for the devs adding the PPSh-42 (S) in an old update they eventually relented and gave the Soviets the AVT-40 20.

This isn’t an argument, because the devs have demonstrated that they can just add another weapon instead.

This would require you bringing a suggestion for what they could add or swap out for this gun. Trust me, i’d take a much more unique weapon than a basic br 1 bolt addition anyday as long as it isnt another damn smg. So, what would you replace with it then?

Nope, devs added the AVT-40 20 all on their own.

It was suggested prior to the adding, and this is still not saying what we could replace it with in a hypothetical. Irrelevant of what devs do or dont do, what would this be feasibly replaced with? (Reply is not working so apologies if it doesnt link to posts)
