As it currently stands, the type 99 lmg is completely forgotten and for a reason. The type 96 is the first mg to unlock in the tech tree and uses the mg1 squad to upgrade. Type 99 is not even next, its after the ke7 as well (excellent mg), meaning in total, after researching the type 96 fully, you would have to research the ke7 (58k exp) and then the type 99 (74k exp). When unlocking this cursed gun you unlock the new mg2 squad which means you now also have to upgrade the squad to unlock upgrades for the type 99.
It takes so much to get to this weapon, one would think its because its more powerful or smtn (lol). Lets see what advantages the type 99 has over the type 96:

- 90% recoil control vs type 96s 40
Every single other stat is worse. Sprint factor, vertical and horizontal recoil, reload speed, it even has worse velocity. After grinding exp for the ke7 and the type 99 itself, after grinding the mg2 squad to be able to unlock upgrades for the type 99, after all of that you get a…worse weapon.
Either downtier this weapon, which is worse because i know you will leave it where it is in the tech tree, or change the stats in any way between the type 96 and 99 to somehow differentiate between them so at least one has some kind of actual advantage in some area. This way type 99 is like a punishment that you have to grind out because you just had access to good mgs if you wanna continue through the tech tree.
